Perhaps you're just hungry? The thought reminds you of the hunger still knawing away in your belly - other than those measly bites of that delicious hay, you've been running on an empty stomach since yesterday morning. You're about to prop yourself off the ground and find something to eat before the sight of your forelimbs catches your attention, making you alarmed with ice shooting through your veins. Your hooves seem to be deformed and mutated, splitted into five weird appendages on each limb, tipped off with black keratin like your hooves.
'Hooves looks... weird. No, Fingers, those are... fingers, human fingers... My fingers?'
It's like a nightmare coming to life, the horrifying realization seeping in as your mind fights against the haze clogging up your thoughts and slowly puts together what's happening to you. Your changes have explicably progressed, it's effecting not just your body but your mind too! Your hooves, hands, it's the only piece of humanity you still have and it's fading away fast. Your middle fingers are still swelling in size while the others shrink away into your wrists.
'Not a donkey, am human. I. AM. HUMAN!'
You, braying in panic, struggle to lift yourself off all fours, but couldn't due to your spine and hips losing their flexibility for the bipedal stance. You press yourself against the wall and try your best to keep your new forelegs, off the ground. You try to call for help, but all that comes out are just:
"HEE-HAW! HEE-HAW! HEE-HAW!" Each bray punctuated by a tail lash and ear flick.
You stare desperately at what's left of your rapidly fading humanity, your thoughts racing a million miles per hour as you wonder what to do.
