Dad clear his throat as I open my eyes and stare at him. “Ok David I just got off the phone and Larry said he may have found something interesting about the experiment” Dad begins speaking as I get up instantly. Could Dr. Larry have already found a procedure to return us back to our original bodies? “Larry told me that it may be possible to repeat the procedure on previously experimented members if… they’re related”. He finishes. I look at him confused.
“So does that mean he may be able to switch us back or…” I ask him.
“I’m afraid not. Larry says that this procedure can only swap the bodies of people who haven’t been swapped with each other previously” Dad explains. I groan. Even after Dr. Larry developed a possible method to swap the bodies of switched individuals again, I could only use it to become my other family members. Suddenly, I remember my cousin, John, in New York. He’s about my age… although it wouldn’t be exactly my body I could go back to living my life as a 16 year old.
I perish the thought not wanting to get anyone else involved in this matter. After all, I agreed to the experiment to gain the much need money for our family. “Larry said they’re already starting to conduct research in the procedure, he said that at their current rate, it’ll only take them three years to build a machine capable of doing it!” Dad says the info with a joyful tone but to me it just sounds to me that I’ll be stuck living as my Dad for the next three years of my life or perhaps the rest of it.
“Well son, I think I’m going to follow you and also take a shower. If you want to speak to Larry yourself I have his number on my desk.” Dad says before leaving the bedroom. I sit up and try to decide on what to do now.
