The Magic Shop

Dysfunctional family delusion.

Megan was tierd, confused and creeped out. So for her sake so did the idea of continuing all of this tomorrow sound like a good idea. Alan on the other hand was personally offended by the mere suggestion of giving up for tonight.

"It couldn't hurt to try it again?! What the fuck are you talking about!? We haven’t even tried to fix this once. Seriusly! We've tried nothing and you guys are allready all out of ideas. I'm not just gonna go to sleep and hope this shit will fix it self over night. We gotta try somthing for fuck sake!" protested Alan.

"Watch your language young lady!" Barked Steve.

"I don’t give a shit about that right now Mom. What I d- " Alan was cut of by Steve yelling "I'M NOT YOUR MOTHER! I'M YOUR FATHER!"

"SO LET'S TRY TO FUCKING DO SOMTHING ABOUT THIS THEN INSTEAD OF LOSING YOUR SHIT OVER SOME SWEARING!" yelled Alan back.

This soon turnd into a half houer long shouting match between the two of them. The problem was that neither one of them was as intimidating as they used to be. Both thought that they vere considerably taller and stronger than the other. Not that they wanted to resort to violence or anything, but subconsciously so vere both used to getting an other reaction. Inn the end so did Janet finaly get between the two of them. And they eventualy calmed down.

Janet once again sugested that they all should wait to the next day before doing anything else with the book. However Alan was still insistent on at least trying something, and despite the heated discussion they just hadd, so did Steve mostly agree that they should try something. The three of them argued about this for an other thirty minutes. Meanwhile Megan keept out of it. She was starting to get really sceard by this.

"We are in no state of mind to dealing with this right now. It has been a long day and whatever that book did to our mind sertenly did not help our mood. I say we catch some mutch needed shut-eye and deel with this situation tomorrow when we have clearer heads." reasoned Janet.

"But you don't know that Dad. For all we know so could sleeping cause this to worsen, like we could wake up and our heads are even more messed up." responded Alan.

"We also don’t know if we got time to sleep. What if this is time sensetive or something. What if this becomes permanent after lets say an hour or something? We should at the very least look into this honey." added Steve

Janet look at her watch and said "Well if thats the case so were we too late ten minuts ago. Seriusly girls, I will love you both to the end of the world but sometimes your both just imposibile. I swer you two could argue endlessly."

"That's unfair of you to say Gene. Alison is just taking this seriously. And I'm just worrid about the mental health of my family, our children Gene." snapt Steve.

"Well if you think Alison is so reasonable about this why did I have to stop you to from clawing each others eyes out just thirty-five minutes ago?" sneered Janet.

"She stressed me out, OKAY, with her yelling and swearing! It made the situation worse, OKAY, is that what you wanted to hear Gene!? Are happy now Gene?! However I still think Alison is right Gene!"

"No I'm not happy Stephanie, I jus-"

"Pleas don’t call me that name, Gene."

"Then stop calling me Gene, Stephanie!" shouted Janet.

Then as they cease there shouting, they heard sobbing from the corner of the room. It was Megan.

"I am not a littel kid, but...but..right now so do I just want to hug my mom." wept Megan.

"Oh, Marvin, my littel man, we are allways here for you." said Janet as she rushed over to Megan.

"I SAID I WANTED MY MOM!" cried Megan as she pushed Janet away as Janet trying to embrace her.

Janet looked over at Steve whom then immediately hurried over to thire distraught twelve year old.

"I'm here honey, Mommy's here. I love you for now and forever. No matter what, I will allways love you." said Steve as soothingly as he could muster while hugging Megan tight.

"So its fine for him to call you Mom, but heaven forbid that I do it." snarked Alan.

"Not now Alison! Can't you see your littel brother are upsett. Wether you is his big sister or his big brother don't matter, just act like the older sibling." snapt Janet

"He is not that mutch younger. He is gonna turn thirteen next month." grumbeld Alan.

"And your gonna turn sixteen just three weeks after that, Alison. So act your age." sneard Janet.

Steve just gave Alan a death glear, while still trying to confort Megan.

"Mom? Can I ask you something?" whimpered Megan.

"Yes, Marvin, I mean M-ma...eh..Madison?" stamerd Steve.

"My own Mom don’t even know my name anymore!" bawled Megan in existential dread.

"Honey I know this hard but I still love you, you are still my child and I am still your parent. I promise that we are gonna try everything we can to fix this. And I'm gonna love you wether I'm your mom or your dad, I don’t cear if your my littel boy or my littel girl, Im allways here for you." pleaded Steve.

"Okey then, I guss It couldn't hurt to try book right now." said Janet in a defeated tone.

"Finaly! Lets do this." said Alan.
