A few days later of relatively uneventful days with mostly just school, maybe talking to Kris on occassion during lunch or after P.E., and getting more used to being in dragon form on the ground. Now was the day where Suzan would go to the spa with her mother Denora. Although the day really started with Shawna dropping Suzan off at a nice house with a landing pad. Shawna would enjoy the nice house and the amenities it had, and Denora and Suzan would fly off to the actual dragon spa!
"...but... I just got used to running as a dragon..." Suzan complained
"It'll be simple. You intuited transformation magic before your father or I could, flying should be real easy." Denora said. Suzan had to admit her mother looked real pretty on the landing pad with the wind blowing her hair and coat.
Suzan took a deep breath and then expanded into her dragon form... Then tried to flap her wings which generated a gust of wind, but not much else. Denora expanded into her own full dragon form which was blue like Suzan's, but instead of being the size of a car Denora was around the size of a small building.
"Not quite my child." Denora thought into Suzan's mind, "Feel the air and tell it to push against your wings." At which point she heard her child kinda bark. "Suzy? You can't use telepathy?" Suzy roared a bit. Denora then realized her child only really intuited transformation magic, but as she thought she was a human Suzy never really found her magic power as a whole. While they tried for awhile to get Suzan airborn, but Denora realized she'd need to schedule Suzan for meetings with some real magic users. She also made Suzan shrink back into her human form and just flew them both to the spa. It didn't quite feel natural to Suzan, and she felt both a bit embarrassed as she had to ride her mom instead of flying into the spa herself... and she also felt panic since they seemed to fly into a series of active volcanoes. Now fully on the ground with Denora being in human form as well Suzan cowered in a dry spot in the middle of a flowing lava.
"Come on Suzy! This isn't even magic we're just naturally lava resistant!" Denora said as she put her human-looking arm into the extremely hot liquid, and then splashed some of it towards her child as if she were splashing her with water at a pool. Suzan screamed as the red hot molten rock touched her skin-like hide. It was hot for sure, but it was more hot in the sense of when you turn your shower on and it's just a little too hot. Suzan calmed down a little as she felt herself adapt to the heat, and watch as the molten rock hardened back into rock. Trying to look through the heat haze there seemed to be a bunch of buildings.
Suzan asked "Where are we even?"
"The Ring of Fire we like to call it. It's mostly small in terms of population numbers. Mostly dragons although there are a few Cyclopses and other fire retardant monsters that work here." Denora explained as she watched her daughter shaking a little "Are you scared?"
"You know at school when surrounded by humans... Thought being a dragon would be kinda interesting, but... Well there are just real dragons and monsters here..."
"Don't say that Suzy! You ARE a real dragon. More of a real dragon than I or most dragons are right now! You just need to find yourself! Let's just get into our dragon forms, go to the spa and relax. I'll do most of the talking and all you need to do is relax and really feel your body." Denora expanded into her dragon form and took a few steps through some running lava. She looked back and saw the car sized dragon daughter of hers slowly dipping her front claws into the lava in front of hers like a little kid afraid the water at a pool may be too cold. The human side of Denora thought this was cute, but was also annoyed. How long would it take this kid of hers to learn that she's a lot more durable than she thinks.
