If this is Ken's new reality and there is no way of returning, then all he could do is skip through the five stages of grief and straight to acceptance. Besides, there's no redeeming factor in his life. No family would miss him, friends that would look for him, even his roommate is starting to drift away. Maybe this wasn't a bad thing as he originally thought.
Moving in this new body is strange but Ken got used to it quickly. Extend one part of himself forward, drag the rest of his body then do it all over again. It's how amoebas move. Ken got out of the alley and crawled towards the immediate street. Given his strange gelatinous appearance, he thought people would find it weird to see a wet puddle moving about beneath people's feet. But the people acted oblivious to his presence. They are too fixed on their private lives, their goals, and destinations, to see a strange beside the soles of their feet.
Like this guy. Ken latched onto this guy's legs and the guy barely registered the sense of wetness clinging to his shorts.
