She wasn't sure how long she was running down the street. It all just sort of seemed to blur together. But as the sun was simmering down to the horizon, leaving the whole world in a soft orange glow, her eyes squinted out across the horizon... and there she was. Buck naked, showing off that gorgeous body, red hair flowing around her. Aubrey looked like something out of a dream as Terri approached her - the whole world around them seemed to slow to a crawl the closer they were.
The girl started stripping away her own clothes, tossing off her shirt and pants and underwear as she closed in. She didn't care who saw them - she just wanted to be with this redhead who'd stolen her heart, absolutely nothing between them. Trepidation crept in once they were face to face, mere feet apart - until Aubrey smiled and held out her hands, Terri reaching out to take them in her own. She smiled in return, staring into those beautiful blue eyes, feeling a tingle in her spine as she started to remember things.
A flood of thoughts. Entire lifetimes suddenly rushing into her mind. Timelines that had been averted, whole decades, centuries that never came to pass. An infinite sea of apocalypses and alternate realities, things that her future doppelganger recalled floating into her own mind now that the other one had settled here, her soul naturally entwining with its past self. And at the center of every single one of those disasters, all those alternate timelines... there was Aubrey. She reached one hand to cup the redhead's face, and her beloved's eyes lit up for a moment, her own billion memories from countless other Aubreys flooding her own mind.
"...you destroyed the world over and over and over..." Aubrey muttered in amazement. "All... all for me..." It wasn't horror that filled her features, but a smile, an adoring new gaze. "Nobody ever liked me enough to do that before..."
Terri let out a breathless laugh. "Well, when I want a girl's attention, I never half-ass it." She ran a hand through those gorgeous strands of auburn. "Aubrey... I..."
"I know," the redhead cut her off. "I do too." She laned in, drawing this woman who'd torn reality asunder just to capture her heart, emrbacing her wholly as the love they'd shared across so many other timelines filled their hearts. Terri's eyes shut as, just for a moment, she allowed the universe to consist of nothing more than the honey-sweet lips her own were pressed against. She felt arousal, certainly... but more than that, she finally felt... loved. Like somebody had seen her at her absolute best and worst, and still adored her to the end. Exactly the way she felt about Aubrey in turn.
Their kiss drew out longer and longer... Terri felt like she was spending years making out with this bombshell. And when she opened her eyes... she realized it might well have been years after all. Because time itself, outside of their little bubble, was frozen, birds stuck mid-flight, Anna completely still in the air not far off, cars halted with the streaks of their lights visible. Instinctively, she realized that it must have been her own doing - who else but Terri had so afflicted time itself that she might be able to control it, uncounciously or not? Aubrey glanced around, quickly coming to the same conclusion as Terri.
"Huh... I guess... Anna wasn't the only one who left that beach with superpowers." She smirked. "Maybe... maybe we can add superhero to all the things about you that make me go wild?"
"...maybe." This would need exploring - but for the first time, the idea of exploring the unknown didn't scare her in the slightest. It even kind of got her excited. "I'm gonna need a name."
"Quantum?"
"Probably taken."
"Clockblocker."
"Literally a comic book character."
"Rewind."
"No, but I just thought of something perfect. Something thematic to the other new heroine." She grinned. "Timeslut."
Aubrey half-groaned and half-giggled. "That's terrible. I love it. Just..." She ran a hand up Terri's arm. "You're not gonna go use those fancy time powers to bang every girl who fawns over you, right?"
"Oh, don't you worry." She glanced out over Aubrey's shoulder, spotting a familiar sight: her future self, sitting on a bench with Niamh, eyes locked with each other and hands held. "I only go for redheads... and you're the only ginger for me."
"Gonna hold you to that."
"You better." She leaned in to plant a quick kiss on her girlfriend's lips. "Now... how about an eternity or two of fun?"
"Hm." Smirking, Aubrey put her hands on Terri's shoulders. "You think you can handle a few billion years bent over a tale for me, little miss Timeslut?"
She shrugged. "Let's find out."
