You manage to duck into a patch of thick grass as the figure approaches. Moving forward slowly to avoid rustling the grass and making noise, you try to get a good look.
The figure turns out to be a large rubber monkey. Judging from the lopsided breasts, it was clearly a female, with a smaller monkey clinging to her back. The monkey ripped some bark off of a rotting tree and dug through the trunk. She fishes out a handful of bugs, munching on some while feeding the rest to her child.
Since she's clearly distracted, you start to slowly move away when suddenly, you hear a snap as your foot crushes a loose twig. The monkey suddenly turns her head and puts her child in the branches of the tree for safety. Picking up a rock, she begins to move towards the bush. You move to the other side, careful not to make another sound. The monkey ruffles through the grass, looking for you. Then, without warning, she drops the rock and disappears into the grass.
You breathe a sigh of relief and turn your attention to finding a way out of this jungle. Then, you feel something squishing beneath your shoe. Some kind of brownish-tan rubbery gunk. It almost looks like fur...
Hands suddenly grab and pull you into the grass. When you look up, you see a naked woman with a buzz cut, her body adorned with tattoos and a couple of piercings. She makes a strange hooting sound and you see a naked nine-year old boy with blond hair make his way into the grass to hide. Outside, you can hear the sounds of other rubber animals moving around. The woman puts her hand over your mouth and leans in close.
"Listen closely. Because of your idiotic decision to wander in here, I've had to shed the rubber skin that keeps myself and my son safe. Around here, the animals are king, and humans are prey. So you can either do exactly what I tell you, or I'll snap your neck here and now. Nod if you understand."
You nod.
"We need to find a new source of rubber. You are going to take off those clothes and bury them, and then follow my lead. Don't even think about wandering off or making a sound. If we're going to survive, we'll have to travel as a pack. And before you ask, yes, that means you're going to be a monkey for a considerable period of time. Now, I'm going to start moving. You better be right behind me if you want to live."
