The first challenge as it turned out was a legal quiz game that even a first year law student could have passed. So, it's unsurprising when you easily win.
"Wow what an impressive display! If I'm ever in trouble with the law I know who to call," announced the host, "But now it's decision time with you current age of 40 that $1,000,000 is reduced to $25,000 and the additional prize based on your current age is..."
The man gestures to an area covered by a curtain which swings back to reveal a shopping cart full of groceries, "...free grocery delivery services from the service of your choice. So tell us Danielle what are you going to do?"
The offered "rewards" don't matter much in your decision. You already know it's most likely just all theater, "I think I'm going to continue playing."
The host nods and points his laser pointer at you and clicks the button. Surprisingly, you actually do feel a slight tingling momentarily. After it fades something definitely feels different but you can't quite put your finger on it.
"Welcome back to 30 Danielle. I hope you enjoy your day off and come back ready for day two on Wednesday," he waits a moment before the cameras click off and then shakes your hand, "Thanks again for agreeing to be the show's first contestant. I don't think we've been properly introduced yet. My name is John Leo."
Still distracted by that unplaceable feeling you nod half attentively before excusing yourself. Heading over to your family, you find the kids are antsy from sitting around so long and your husband excuses himself to return a work call. Looks like you need to figure out what to do until Wednesday.
