With the hot sun beating down on your head, you decided that the best thing you could do was try and find a place to cool off, and hopefully you'd be better able to recall your path afterwards. There were plenty of trees offering some shade, but you figured your best option was to find a body of water to dunk in, hopefully one without any unpleasant sea life looking to suck your blood dry or give you a horrible disease. From what you could remember, there was a lake not too far away from where you first entered the woods; that seemed like your best bet.
Trudging through the trees, you eventually started to spot some kind of clearing off in the distance. A freshwater scent as you got closer just confirmed that you were heading in the right direction, and you quickened your pace, eager to go take a nice, relaxing swim. Sure enough, cresting over the hill you found it: Grizzly Lake, one of the last few pristine bodies of water in the area. The clear, clean water was terribly inviting, so much so that you didn't really take much in the way of survival steps. Just a quick glance around to make sure no bears were around, and then off your clothes went - you were certain this was safe to skinny dip in, and in any case, you forgot your swim trunks.
The water was instantly soothing, its cool embrace helping to bring your body temperature down to something a bit more reasonable. You knew that it was probably best to only take a quick dip and get on your way... but you still had plenty of daylight left. What could in the harm in sticking around, getting some laps in? The exercise would do your skinny body some good, and you rarely got a chance to swim in anything this clear and cool. Hell, it even looked safe enough to drink - maybe it was worth taking a gamble and refilling your canteen here?
