CYOTF (Human)

A quiz game between a Jock and a Nerd

"Welcome to Quiz Change. A battle where wits and brawn is on the line, literally!" Mitchell Michaels, the ever-smiling host of Quiz Show announced. He slicked back his luscious ebony hair, "for today's segment, we have two contestants. Unlike the others, these contestants are childhood friends. Will their friendship grow stronger after they begin to lose their attributes, or will they break apart like most others. Tune in and find out after the break."

People say reality TV shows are scripted. The frail yet genius Albert Filch and the stocky university top wrestler Chet Reid, experienced this reality when a producer of the show handed them a script from days before the premier. For the first few rounds, Albert will show his intellectual superiority by answering questions from his line of expertise - Science. For every win, he'll get wins from Chet's confidence. He'll get smugger as the show goes on. People will root for Albert less and flip for their support for Chet. This fall and sudden rise in tension and stakes are shown to garner more viewers and thus, more money. Then the show will reach its climax when Alberts makes one wrong move that will cost him the game. Slowly, everything he won is stripped away and the game will end in square one. That's how the game went in the past and that's how it will end today.

In their sudden need to change the show's formula, they failed to anticipate that the contestants, who are well-acquainted with one another, would negotiate and stray away from the producer's script. They won't go back to square one. They'll strive to reach the middle ground of their distinct characteristics and end the game there.

Their plan is fool-proof. Or so they thought…"

"Life Co. - Death is not the end. Just for $9999 per month, instead of finding light in a dark tunnel, you'll have the body of your dreams waiting just for your soul. Ensure your life with Life Co." the commercial ended with an old man on his deathbed then waking up in a muscular body lounging on a tropical beach.

"And that's for our sponsors! Welcome back to Quiz Change where wits and brawn instruments to win and prizes to be won. In the state of California, two men will battle on the stage. On the left side, Albert Filch is our resident cerebral contestant with a keen intellect in medicine and physics and boasting several academic rewards. On the right side and towering over my current handsome body, Chet Reid boasts a staggering 6'5" and a weight of over 235 pounds. He is the top college wrestler in their state with a promising career in male fitness modeling. These contestants are remarkable in their respective fields, but will it translate into something useful for the game? Come and find out in… Quiz Change!"

Mitchell’s platform rose from its spot and flew him towards the middle of a giant wheel. The wheel is divided into multiple colors, each contributing to a question or a powerup to spice the game. Per tradition, Albert and Chet shook their hands and looked into each other's eyes to remind them of the deal. As they reached their respective positions, a blow of smoke filled the room. The smoke contained the nanites necessary to do the transformations in which the show is most known. Albert and Chet felt their skin tingle, even though the nanites are infinitesimally small that their nerves could barely register their touch. Maybe it was the coldness of the room they're feeling. Or maybe it was this dread scratching at the back of their mind, thinking that the other will betray them throughout the game.

"For the easy round, each correct answer scores two points. Each win will also allow you to steal an attribute from your opponent. Be it a part of their body or their personality, the choice is up to you. Each contestant will have 30 seconds to answer questions. Let's begin. Since you are the heaviest, Chet will go first."

Well, to the drain Albert's fast food splurge goes. He thought that by eating tons of carbs an hour ago, he could stand a chance against the sheer weight of Chet's muscles. He guessed wrong. At least he's not hungry.

Mitchell pushed a button and the wheel spun in a colorless whirl. Each second came with the clack of the pointer hitting hundreds of nails in the wheel's circumference. The beat is fast and it seems the contestant's hearts are trying to keep up. The wheel slowed down and came to a halt on a yellow tile - History.

"With two points on the line, we get a History question. You better answer this right because your body is at stake here, Chet." Mitchell chuckled followed by a can of laughter from the audience. "The question is…

Which Archipelagic State did the USA liberate from the hands of the Japanese starting from October 20, 1944?"
A. Bhutan
B. Philippines
C. Vietnam
D. Laos

And the timers start now,"

People tend to think that just because he plays sports or looks like your typical Jock, he is not adept at academics. Sure, he's not as amazing as Albert but they had hundreds of study sleepovers starting when they were elementary kids. Some of Albert's knowledge rubbed off of him. He remembered the time when Albert brought a thick almanac that illustrated a map of the world. They played a game where one says the name of a country and points them out within 20 seconds. Winning means that you get to spank the other and losing means your butt is about to get stinging red. Albert won most of the time but Chet has the heavier hand. Albert would sleep with an ass so raw that it looks red as a cherry.

Of the choices, two are land-locked countries and the remaining wrong answer is in a peninsula, not an archipelago.

"My answer is B. The Philippines,"

Mitchell was taken aback by how quickly the jock answered such a difficult question. "Is that your final answer?"

"Yes, I'm sure."

"That's one quick answer you got there. But the question is, is it right? Let's look at the screen to see what the answer is." They looked at the back of the stage where the arrow cycled between answers. The arrow slowed to the right answer - B. Philippines. "Your answer is correct. You've earned two points and a choice on what to steal from our dear friend Albert. So, what do you call Chet?"

What attribute did Chet choose?
