Chronivac Version 4.0

Getting sidetracked

added by Anonymous 2 years ago I Reality alteration

Mary stood in her former son’s room admiring how clean and sleek her new dress was. Looking around the room, she realized that it had seriously been left a mess. Her motherly anxiety was getting at her. She thought about using the Chronivac to clean up, but hesitated, knowing that she really wanted to try on her new clothing before making more changes. While she was stuck in this dilemma, she heard the doorbell ring. Not expecting anyone, she left her dress on Jeff’s bed and went downstairs.

She opens the door only to find Jeff’s girlfriend standing there, “Hey, Jeff said there was something he wanted to show me. Is he home right now?”

Mary almost said no when a thought crossed her mind, a very mischievous thought that she would need to keep hidden from her children. She only had a dress and a bra, but what she wanted was a full outfit of people. Deciding that she never really liked Jeff’s girlfriend, she formulated a plan for her demise.

“Yeah, he’s around.” She half lied, “I’ll go get him.”

When Mary got to Jeff’s room, she wasted no time in pulling up the high schooler’s information. She scrambled through the pages, selecting a pink leather purse that would look cute with her daughter. Just as she was about to press enter, she noticed a box saying reality shift. Upon closer inspection she saw it could, not only transform the girl, but make all traces of her existence disappear, including memories and belongings.

Mary had hit the Jackpot. She clicked the box, set the time limit to indefinite, and pressed enter. She went downstairs only to find that everything looked the same. The purse she had wanted was sitting there at the bottom of the stairs, but she had no way to confirm the reality shift. Going back to the computer, she pulled up the files for Jessica and Jeff. I’ll undo it when I change them back was her only thought before she clicked the reality shift boxes and pressed enter.

Her surroundings changed. The mess that was Jeff’s room was erased, filled in with all the furnishings of a home office. Likewise, across the hall her dress’s former bedroom was now guest bedroom, unmarked by posters or exotic wallpapers. Mary quickly walked through her new home, filled with luxury items that she could afford without the cost of kids. She felt giddy at the thought of keeping these luxuries in place of her children.

Excitedly, she stripped down to only Jeff, and put on her former daughter. When she bent down to pick up her new purse, she felt the draft under her skirt; she might need to find someone to fix that. Remembering that she still needed shoes before she would be able to go out, she looked out the window. Across the street the neighbor’s grandson was playing with their dog in the front yard, and a jogger was keeping a swift pace on the sidewalk.

Mary grinned and sat back at the Chronivac; she knew exactly how she was going to get her new shoes.
