While there were plenty of events going on at the IAC, the delayed Olympics were causing a lot of decreased attention due to happening at the same time. However, there were a few things that maintained a lot of interest.
---
Probably what was the biggest event was the IAC Hunter Games, since it was not present in the Olympics. It was indeed popular, since there were those who called it a combination of a nature documentary and a gladiator battle. Of course there were a few variations, tied to each colony, such as Underwater Hunting at Mieni Atoll. What was probably the most popular, in terms of people watching, was the Hunter Games in Dino City, no doubt partly due to the popularity of the Jurassic Park series.
---
Speaking of Mieni Atoll, the finals for the bodybuilding competition was heating up quite a bit because the two finals were Elena and 'the Bald Bull'. "Rock" hadn't expected to do well enough to get into the finals, but he was ready to "go down fighting" against Elena. While Elena had the most attention due to being a herm and being supported by hir shiver, he had a hidden "ace up his sleeve", so to speak. He had discovered that being relatively hairless had enabled him to soak up some local color, and tanning was believe to help muscles stand out, whether that was true or not.
---
The second biggest thing that was going on was the IAC Martial Arts Tournament and Showcase at Heiya Island. Not only was it a showcase for various forms of martial art, but there were a few side exhibitions that were almost as interesting, if not more. One of which was an exhibition of how Samurai Armor was crafted, which held the attention of Archy and his Knights. There were a few others that were confusing however, though the explanations helped them make sense.
"Why would you name a sword 'Basket Blade'?" asked one of the knights, handling said sword, which was actually a "warfare-grade" replica forged especially for the weapon demonstrations.
"It's a proverb of ours." answered one of the blade smiths, "'A basket used in place of a bucket will hold no water.' In a similar way, this blade is so sharp that a drop of water will not rest on its edge."
"Okay..." said the knight, not really getting it.

There was also a few things that were going on that were considered relatively minor compared to everything else, but were still amusing. For example, there was a showcase of "warfare-grade" versions of weapons and/or armor from movies, television, and/or video games (except the obviously outlandish/complicated/impractical ones). There were some that were more familiar in Japan than they were elsewhere, but this was considered a good way to learn about them.
