As the sun rose, Jarad awoke with a start. She was confused for a few moments by the fact she was in a forest clearing and laying next to a buck, but the fog cleared quickly.
She felt both sick and exhilerated by what had happened.
Quietly, she stood up. The buck woke, but didn't rise as she slowly, walked away, browsing on the forest floor. Jarad didn't want to arouse the buck any more than he already was. She scented along her path, following her own scent, until she found herself back at the old shack.
Thankfully, it was still deserted. She walked up to the doorway and peered in, feeling her heart leap as she found the medallion still sitting on the floor, right next to her human, male sock.
Without missing a moment, she picked the medallion up in her mouth and touched it to the sock.
