"Alright then... are the Martin ladies ready?" the staff member operating the controls to the hoisting machinery asked while Donna sat and watched from the moon pool. "subjects-" the slightly menacing looking assistant started only for the operator to bang a fist to the table behind him. "David. we're gone over this...THEY ARE NOT LAB RATS HERE. THEY ARE VOLUNTEERS" the operator shouted in protest "will you ever learn to see they all retain their humanity". "sure sure... mermaids are humans I get it" David mocked before leaving.
"honestly boss their were many other, more open minded candidates for the role... why David Darker?" the operator then asked Donna. "bachelor's degrees in both aquatic genetics and human anatomy... plus sadly all candidates as close like you ask already snatched up" Donna confessed "anyway at each day's to month's end so long as he sticks to the contract all those longing to be mermaids are safe". A few moments later the conveyer hoisting Chloe and Monica carried the mother and daughter from a covered area to above the huge moon pool housing the 'tails' as Donna called them. "umm... boss... does one of these sisters look... extra young to you?" the operator asked upon seeing Monica. "I'm 14" Monica responded. Monica meanwhile was clenching her teeth through the surprisingly painful process as the fish tongue rather than leave the mouth and go up either her back or stomach instead tunnelling it's way up through her bowels until it reach her stomach. the fish itself started to shrink somewhat while the skin of everything of Monica's it now covered was dissolved away until the inner muscles of the fish started fusing with hers'. as the fish's eyes closed for the final time as the process erased them Monica herself was eventually rendered unconscious.
