The rest of the training has flown with more practice, human-animal interactions like being petted, brushed, and... being ridden. It wasn't pleasant to have a bit in their mouths, but they had to get used to that. Most humiliating was a presentation about how bad riders treat their horses. No participant wished to have a rider like that.
At the end of the camp, each one knew how to act and pass as a horse. They took the zebra mare first. She had some specific marking, so maybe one day at some zoo, she could find her. She could only imagine how hard it had to be for her to completely drop her human life.
That day they all were to be taken to their stables. Each one into a different one. That way they can enjoy their time without any regret or shame and embarrassment. She could hear the donkeys were taken to some kind of pet zoo, as a temporary attraction for kids. Then trailers for horses arrived.
April's heart was racing, where will they put her? Will they treat her well? Will they really protect her from stallions, before she will be taken back? So many questions... The people who let her into the trailer were the last ones who knew the horses are former humans. They are responsible for their safety.
After two hours, the truck finally stops.
