Lucas grabbed his standard controller and sat down to play. The character customization screen came on soon after, and Lucas began the process of designing his initial avatar. He decided to pick the female model, similar to the character on the box art, and went through the all important meticulous process of perfecting her look. He gave his avatar long black hair, big green eyes, small B-cup booba, an ultra trim waist, and… fertility goddess hips and booty. He couldn’t help himself and gave her thighs to match.
Of course, he wasn’t content with playing a plain human. He’d always loved cyborgs, which was the reason he was drawn to sci-fi in the first place. He picked the cyborg race and made her arms metallic silver and made the rest of her body alabaster white synth-skin. He added an LCD effect to her eyes and decided he was satisfied with his avatar’s look. He dressed her in a green sleeveless leotard with matching knee high boots and named his creation…
Lucia.
The minute he confirmed his avatar, the OmniDrive suddenly started making a loud humming noise. It was a humming that got louder and louder until…
…!
IT FUCKING EXPLODED!!!
——————————————————————
Lucas woke up in a strange place, a strange feeling in his body. His vision was filled with what seemed like heads-up display elements including a compass, a health bar, and an ammo counter. Standing up, his head swam and mechanical whirring filled his ears. The minute he saw his silver, metallic hands, however, he quickly understood exactly what was going on.
Lucas was no longer a human man. He had transformed into his avatar Lucia, a cyborg girl. Lucia looked around her surroundings and came to the following conclusions:
This was some kind of cyberpunk city slums, presumably the starting point of the game she started up.
Her house was destroyed in the explosion from the OmniDrive, which was probably just about the worst way for a console to go.
Every instinct she had was telling her to go explore and figure out what the heck is going on.
