Danielle Faber, 15, groggily slammed her alarm clock off. 6:30 a.m. Why the hell does anyone enjoy getting up at this time, she thought to herself. Physically forcing herself out of bed, she picked up a pair of skinny jeans she could find and threw them on. "The benefits of night showers" she said out loud for some reason.
It was Friday, February 13. Danielle had a million things on her plate that day; school, soccer practice, and the movies with her friend, Becky. However, it was tomorrow that had Danielle fixated. Valentine's Day had left Danielle stressed for the last month. She had been dating her boyfriend, Andrew, for two years, and she wanted to make this year special. Perhaps...they'll get past third base tomorrow. They had tried before, but it ended very awkwardly for both of them.
Throwing on a pink sweater, Danielle adjusted her long, curly brown hair. One of the things she loved about Andrew was that he never made her feel uncomfortable for being a tomboy. She wasn't averse to girly stuff, but she just felt more comfortable being natural. She threw on her pair of blue Skechers and ran down the stairs. He would be outside in ten minutes for their daily walk to school together.

Andrew Cardin, 15, started walking to his girlfriend, Danielle's house. The two had been in a relationship for two years, and it had been nothing but bliss. Still, he was nervous. Tomorrow was Valentine's Day and he wanted to make Danielle feel special.
The teen shivered as he walked in the cold February day. His Carhartt jacket was providing little comfort to his scrawny frame. Feeling his phone vibrate nonstop for four minutes, he rummaged through his pockets, expecting a text from Danielle. Nope... it was Greg, the owner of the local PC shop. The parts Andrew had been looking for wouldn't be available for a week. "God damn it" Andrew barked. It wasn't that important, but Andrew had been anticipating making new modifications to his desktop, which would have to be delayed further. Computer science was his passion, and one of the things he loved about Danielle was the fact that she never made him feel ashamed for what he felt was a "nerdy" hobby. He hoped that she would see him in a new light after tomorrow.
Approaching her house, he saw Danielle standing there and smiled. "Hi, Andy" Danielle beamed. "Hi, Dani" Andy replied in kind. They kissed on the lips, they held each other's hands, and started making their way toward school. As they walked, they were accosted by a woman they had never seen before.
"HEY, you two! I have something you want!"
Andrew stopped. "What the hell are you talking about?" he barked. Danielle decided to walk up to the woman. "I'm sorry, we're not interested in whatever you're selling."
"Oh really." she said quietly. "It's a shame...I could have given you two a very, very special Valentine's Day."
