"First, the dare. I hear there's a party happening at that quarterback Ben's house tonight. I also hear you've got an enormous crush on him, and you were invited to go. To make sure you don't spoil the fun of this transformation, I must dare you to go. You will attend the party and start flirting with Ben as you've always wanted to."
Jennifer, horrified some stranger knew about the party and her feelings for Ben, couldn't bear to listen to him prattle on about her dare, as if he thought the stupid curse was actually real. But, for reasons she couldn't explain, Jennifer's hand wouldn't hang up the phone. She was entranced listening to Kyle's explanation.
Kyle continued, "As you flirt and flaunt your body, your pores will produce a powerful pheromone that will make Ben--or anyone else--instantly attracted to you. And as your body produces those pheromones, you will begin to change into a satyress. You will lose all inhibitions and act with the promiscuousness akin to the satyrs of myth."
"I know how much of a slut you've always wanted to be. This spell is going to trap you into a life of endless self-pleasure and cavorting. How does the phrase go, 'Too much of a good thing...?' And in case you think about turning the tables on me, I will be the only person on Earth aside from you that is not affected by your pheromones.
"But to make sure you don't get too much fun out of the new life that awaits you, I dare you to not drink or eat any food once you've transformed. No matter how much you may want to stop, nothing will keep you away from constant sexual pleasure, right to the very end. Okay, that should be enough to teach a bitch like you a serious lesson. By all means, have fun." Kyle spat his farewell and hung up.
Jennifer was instantly freed from whatever invisible force had frozen her. She had broken into a cold sweat as fear of what may happen floated in her thoughts.
"Jeez, what am I thinking? He talked so long I actually started to buy into that crap," Jennifer said to herself. "He's just trying to get me away from that party. Well, he'd better believe I'm going. And I'm gonna make sure no ridiculous transformation is going to happen and ruin my chances with Ben!" She realized how much time had just been wasted by looking at the clock. Not caring about her missing sock, she threw on her shoes and dashed out the door to go to school.
