As Jason thought hard about his options, his guilt eventually overcame him. It wasn't right. Even if they didn't know who they used to be, he'd always know, and he knew it'd eat at him forever if he didn't at least try to help them. He groaned, finally admitting to himself that he'd probably need to go one by one to fix this mess.
He loaded up the app once more, sat down at a bench adjacent to the store, and prepared to spend a long as time with a guessing game. That is, until he noticed there was a little gear symbol in the top right of the app. He selected it, and a list of minor other options scrolled down. The word that immediately caught his attention was History.
"Bingo." He muttered as he tapped on the word.
He selected the first person closest to the exit of the studio. She was likely a high school senior, was a white girl with long blonde hair. She was wearing a tightly fit uniform, and judging by the red belt she wasn't new to karate. Once selected, some sentence popped up but Jason ignored it, then going back to select history.
John Ming (22) ---> unnamed fetus (4 Months)
unnamed fetus (4 Months) ---> unnamed fetus (4 Months)
unnamed fetus (4 Months) ---> John Weston (5)
John Weston (5) ---> Jane Baker (18)
"What the hell." Jason thought, amazed at how much this former guy had changed just from a side affect of the app. "So, I guess from this he was one of the unlucky bastards that became a fetus... then he was a fetus again? Oh! Right, when I made it a karate class again but with pregnant ladies involved. I guess it's showing me each word change, not just the ones where he changed." He figured.
"Okay, then he was a little boy... maybe that one I saw playing with his pare- er, his new parents." He mumbled under his breath. "Then finally when I made them all similar ages, it changed him to a her. Damn, I guess having different parents and being born at a different time REALLY made him different. Sounds like he may have been Asian, Hell he even changed last names three whole times."
He looked back up again, marveling at how much this girl had changed in the last few minutes. She was completely unaware that just a few minutes ago she was a fetus. Not to mention the fact that she had no idea that she wasn't even supposed to BE a she. He went back to the sentence generated and read it to himself.
"Jane Baker is hoping to become a great martial artist."
He quickly changed "Jane" to read "John" and looked for the result. In the woman's place was a man, still blonde, still wearing the same Karate uniform, but something seemed off to Jason. The man didn't seem to have grown all that much... had the change affected something else? Generating a new sentence, it became apparent.
"This transgender athlete is thinking about breaking down barriers."
He didn't know if the barriers were physical or societal, but the first part seemed clear to Jason. He smacked his forehead, realizing just how precise fixing everyone would be.
"Dammit, this'll be a while." He mumbled.
