Soon after Rachel left the Jenkins home, Melissa Jenkins was upstairs in her bedroom. She was still in her werecow fursona even after Rachel left. She thought about changing back to human, but she changed her mind. This was the real her now. This was who she is. So, she decided to stay in her werecow fursona. Even though the sun was setting, she was still inside, and she could stay the way she was. She carefully knelt down near her dresser and picked up a brush.
She started to brush through her hair, straightening it out and getting ready for her night with Trevor. She looked at herself in the mirror and flicked her ears. If anyone told Melissa that she'd be a giant walking anthropomorphic cow, she'd laugh. But now, after Moon Lake and being with Trevor, she couldn't imagine herself as anything else. She stuck a cow-like tongue at herself before giggling at herself and putting the hairbrush down. The thought did cross her mind that maybe she should brush her fur, but she pushed it away. It was at that point she heard a noise downstairs.
She made her way to the stairwell and saw her father walking through the front door. "Hey dad," she said as she paused on the stairwell.
"Hi dear," Harold responded as he looked up. He could tell that she changed just by the tone of her voice, and looking up, he saw that she was in her fursona form. "A bit early to be changed..." he remarked.
"Well, yeah, Rachel came to visit," Melissa said, "And, well, I decided to show her...well...me. And well...it's kinda hard to explain but..."
Harold nodded his head and said, "Yeah, I get it." remembering his own experience as a weretiger.
"Oh, Trevor's going to be by," Melissa said as she backed up.
"Studying I take it?" Harold said with a bit of a grin and a raised eyebrow.
"Oh, uh," Melissa answered with a bit of a stutter, "Sure. Studying."
Harold chuckled and said, "Just remember, it's a school night. I want you home at a reasonable hour."
"Sure dad," Melissa said as she ran back upstairs. Harold chuckled again as he started to loosen his tie and put his briefcase down. He was also expecting Virginia to come by to help plan their wedding.
