Samantha spends the next several hours helping Diana and Rachel set up. Not being the older cousin is an adjustment, but Samantha finds the experience not terrible.
Soon the rest of the bridesmaids, except one, arrive and Samantha is mildly annoyed to find that all of them are 25 or older. If she knew who was due to arrive late she probably wouldn't have felt that way. Later, she's drinking a glass of champagne when she hears Diana answering the door.
"Hey Mary. I was wondering where you were."
"Sorry, my babysitter cancelled last minute, and I was trying to find a replacement. Unfortunately, no one was free so I had to bring Noah."
Samantha suddenly feels her stomach turn. Mary was Diana's soon to be sister-in-law and Noah was the ring bearer. The two step inside and Samantha finds her head spinning.
"Don't worry about it. My aunt had an emergency, so I volunteered to watch Samantha. She's 6, so Noah won’t be the only kid here."
6? Samantha finds her champagne glass replaced with a cup of punch and found herself much smaller. She was now less than 4 feet tall; her dress was now floor length and resembled something a Disney princess would wear. Samantha was now starting to regret her wish a little bit.
