Merrill felt exhausted. The lady with a prim and proper haircut in a very professional business suit/skirt was a little hunched over as they were coming back to their apartment after going to a convenience store for a pack of beers and some cheap microwave dinners. The days at the office were long and most of the people there were assholes. The convenience store paper bag ripped letting the beers cans fall on the sidewalk, and the microwave dinner fell as well. Merrill cursed and dove to get the cans before they went into the street or something. She thankfully got the beer and dinner as she repositioned the bag. However she found a gold ring with a nice purple gem. On a good day she'd be a good citizen and report it, but since she had a bad day she just took it and found that it slipped on nicely. She went back to her apartment, microwaved the dinner, brought up her laptop, and decided to watch some old cartoons from her childhood.
The beer was cheap, but Merrill was enough of a lightweight she was able to get pretty drunk and just let herself be drowned in nostalgia and booze. There was just something nice about watching pure kids have fun and adventure... So lost with minimal care, and no need to pay bills or have any obligations... Merrill wished she could be a kid again and fell asleep at her laptop with some cartoons playing. At some point she woke up a smidge as someone was carrying her to her bed, and tucked her in. The bed was so soft and warm...
"Sweet dreams..." said a familiar soft voice as Merrill drifted to sleep.
As Merrill woke up she saw she wasn't in her apartment, but something that looked similar to her childhood room... She looked down to find that she didn't have any boobs and was in the body of a kid. But how young of a kid?
