For your 15-year-old boy-self this would have been quite the dream, a beautiful girl right before you at your bed. Even better, a beautiful girl who liked you. Albeit, the baby next to her were not part of this dream.
"Itīs all okay, guys", you assured both the dumbfounded, evolved Racer and the crying, still babyfied Annie. "We can still fix the main problem!" You picked another BeastCube, ensured that this was not the wrong one, and put it on your still half exposed bosom. Now it worked just as intended, you channeled energy to your Heatguana.
Annie halted in her nagging, feeling the change coming for her, and grew. You saw her stats on the Pager climbing, felt yourself dwindling from a teenager to the mere preteen girl which started this journey. The baby became a toddler, the jumpsuit morphing into the typical orange leotard of her species.
Unfortunately, you ran dry long before Annie reached her next step. She stopped growing, just a child, and she was unhappy about it.
You lowered the Cube, took a look at yourself and wheezed. "Jeez, at last Iīm me again, flat like a board." You tried to calm the atmosphere, but Annie was, of course, not for it.
"You took my levels away, you snitch!", she spat. "All the exp we worked so hard for!"
"It was an accident", you replied, holding back your own anger of being called out. "We were both in on it! We challenged the Crest, and it rose to the challenge. Besides, the exp arenīt "away", they are only somewhere else."
"That is exactly what a thief would say!" Annie gave now Racer an angry look. "Am I arrogant? Yes. But was my evolving at least earned? Yes!"
Racer squirmed at that. "Iīm not even happy about this", she replied meekly, trying to hide her evolved body from her little, nasty team member by turning away. "It just ... happened."
"Then make up for it", Annie pushed further, "and insult her. Itīs your turn being the baby."
Racer looked miserable at you. "I ... you big meanie!", she said, more pathetic than angry.
I checked the Crest, which was cold as stone. Not reacting in the slightest.
"Itīs okay", you said to Racer, who was still desperately searching for bad words to throw at you. She babbled and prattled usually so much, but was pretty much lost now. "We find another way." Then you turned to the PC, where the Professor was still patiently listening. "Professor Kao, is there a way to just shift a few levels from one Beastie to the other?"
"Not with the Pauper Crest", he said, "That would be way to delicate a task. This Crest was designed to protect rookie trainers from their growing BeastMon, not as a tool for teambuilding in mind."
"Okay. Thank you very much." You closed the phone app.
Annie was still furious. "Well? What now?"
"We do it the old-fashioned way." Your hand got up before Annie could protest. "You are Level 12, and you will get full priority in any Brawls that will come our way, I swear! You go first as long as you want."
Her eyes narrowed, but she nodded. "Deal. Me first till evolve!"
"Yes, yes. Till your A-Cup-Angst goes away."
You were an only child, but you thought, you would have been a great mediator for your little sisters.
After defusing the situation, you took your time to check Racer in your BeastDex.
"You are a Pudgybow now, by the way. It says, your goggles are like binoculars. Oh, and you know your special ability with them?"
"No?"
"They protect you from sand."
"Uuuh ..."
"The new Meta", Annie said, rolling her eyes.
