So now all seven roommates, plus Mandy’s grandfather Ramses, were at the table eating pizza and sharing conversation. Mandy was really pleased to get to see her beloved family member after what was probably thousands of years, and it did leave you with a ton of questions.
“Umm, pardon me, your almighty majesty?” you asked Ramses.
“Oh no need to be so formal,” the Pharaoh assured you, “I’m not in that kind of power at the moment. Did you have a question for me?”
“Uhh,” you hesitated a moment, “I just wanted to say that you looked great! You look a lot more… hydrated?”
“By Anubis! Good point!” Mandy realized, “It’s true that the embalming process of mummification does dehydrate the body so that it decomposes slower. What most people don’t know is that the magic process that brings mummies back to life also makes the body good as new underneath all of the bandages. In fact, the bandages are actually one and the same with our skin now.”
“I believe that succinctly explains why my granddaughter and I don’t look like dehydrated husks,” Ramses nodded.
“Oh cool,” Frankie smiled, “me learn something new!”
“Say, my boy,” Ramses asked you, “you wouldn’t happen to be sweet on Mandisa, would you?”
“Grandpa!” Mandy whined, “Not in front of the grandbaby!”
“I… what?!” you cried, “We literally just met! I…”
“Just teasing you,” the pharaoh laughed, “By Hotehp, you needn’t take me so seriously unless I say so!”
“R-right,” you nervously chuckle.
