"I don't know...I don't know how any of this is happening," Lilly said. "My dog just turned into a person."
"Your dog? You mean, like...property? I think we're more like roommates," Sandy said.
Jeff wondered what was going on....it looked like, on the screen, that it was doing a test with two individuals before expanding the change.

It had given Sandy, the pet, a life very similar to her former master, from the summary. "Phase 2 commencing."
"Roommates....I mean...I love you a lot, but...you're my pet..." Lilly said.
Sandy seemed almost shocked by the idea. Neither of them noticed that Lilly's hands were starting to change, shrinking, the nails growing out, hardening, becoming sharp, as the fingers fused together into a paw. "Pet, that's kind of like slavery?"
"You weren't exactly like you are now," Lilly said, "I mean....you weren't talking." Her tailbone began to lengthen, and a tail grew out of her backside. Below it, her feet began to shrink, until they nearly matched what her hands had become.
"Well, I am more concerned about what I'm hearing than what I'm saying," she said.
Lilly's ears grew larger in proportion to her face, which grew more rounded as her nose expanded. Her jaw grew thicker along with the muscles supporting it. "Can we not fight, we have bigger problems."
"You're right," the dog said. "We still can't get down. I think you're floating even higher..."
Lilly looked down, the ground being even farther away than before. "I'm not going higher...I'm getting smaller," she said. Her shoulders shifted around below her head to a new orientation, as her limbs locked into new positions.
"This makes no sense," Sandy said. "I mean...now you're changing..."
The collar floated up off the ground and tied itself around her neck as her torso began to fill out, along with the muscles that supported her limbs to make running on all fours more effective.
Her tongue flopped out of her mouth. "Into what?" She asked, a bit garbled as she tried to get her tongue under control. "Stop it...."
"If you can't, I certainly can't," Sandy told her.
"I..." she trailed off as the changes hit her brain...as the first sections started to reconfigure themselves to receive information from her enlarged nose. "I feel weird..."
"Phase 2. Removal of old programming data." The Chronovac flashed. That hadn't happened with Phase 1.
Lilly's work experience began to be removed from her mind, her work day, her decade of experience working at her company. She frowned as she felt something was missing, but wasn't sure what. The removal past into her college years, wiping out four years of college in a matter of seconds.
"Weird how?" Sandy asked. "Sick?"
"Like something's missing," she said, as high school went out the window, elementary not far behind. Lilly's brain overall began to shrink slightly, not needing to take up the space proportional to its previous role.
