You descended with your team into the canopy of Ercu Forest for a final confrontation. Just a short time ago you were just a babysitter with a trio of wisecracking animal-children. You got it a little better now.
As you sank down between the old trees, leaving the higher branches behind, you saw the Forest Queen near the ground. She looked just a little deranged because of the forced landing, leafs and twigs stuck in her hair. Also, she seemed slightly unhinged. She spread her butterfly-wings as she spotted you. Around her crawled little Insect-BeastMon, ladybugs and worms, of course, and even ones who looked like children wearing armor out of pine cones.
Josh, you Bee-Ninja, let you down at one of the thicker branches. You were more secure up here than at the ground.
"Look out for the vulture-guy", you said. "Must be here somewhere."
Josh nodded. "On it."
"No problem. We have the high-ground now!", Annie replied. She gave Racer a hefty clap on her shoulder. "Forward, birdie!"
"Aye!" The bird-girl charged right at the butterfly-woman, gathering winds under her wings once again. "Zephyr!" An air gust shot out at the foe, but the Forest Queen raised her hand, her psychic powers surging and blocking the move.
"Just type advantage will not do the trick! - Minions, Silkbind!" At her command, the worm-children shot out their threads of bug silk, lassoing at Racer. But Annie shot out of the backpack, firing a Flame Spit and burning the treads.
"Even if you say so", Annie replied with a smoky grin, "Here is our answer: Even in numbers, a weakling is a weakling still!"
Josh zoomed past by, flanking the Queen. "Poison Sting!" His move had now the form of shuriken, and he was about to throw them. But an arrow with beaked tip almost hit him, and he ducked. "Vulture guy located!"
"Hold him off!" It was Annie who had taken command right now. "Racer, I go now!" With that, the little lizard-girl took a wide jump, spitting a flame at the Queen.
The fire got blasted off. "Childīs play!"
"Pretty much", Annie replied, running not directly at the butterfly, but turned at the Queenīs minions! "I play now with your children and take their exp!" Her Flame Spit oneshotted a ladybug out of the air, and she proceeded with that.
The Forest Queen was surprised at first, enraged shortly after. "What, you snotty brat!"
As she turned, Racer almost flew in her face. "Your foe is me! Hero of Route 1!"
Immediately, the Queen throw herself at the Pudgybow. "Piss off." In her hand glittered an orangy, dusty powder, which she rubbed right in Racerīs face.
Racer coughed at that. Then, the cramps came in, and she quivered violently. A psychic blast sent her flying without her consent, and her back met a tree. Shit!
From your branch you aimed the Pager. So she was paralyzed? You had an antidote for that! You jumped down and ran to her, rummaging in you backpack.
Meanwhile, Josh fought the Vultarrow, first deflecting his arrows, now letting his swords clash on the sharp claws on the vultureīs feet.
Out of the undergrowth, where Annie had disappeared, still flew sparks and came the squeaks of little bug-children, being bullied.
The Forest Queen pumped another Psi-Blast out of her hand, but you shot first, zapping Racer and calling her into the BeastCube. You summoned her right again, and she collapsed beside you. You catched her just in time so she wouldnīt hit the ground full-force.
"Iīve got you." You sprayed the antidote in her mouth, and her rigid muscles relaxed.
"Tha ... thank you."
Not that you could do more in this fight.
The Forest Queen approached you. "How cute. Have you many of these spray cans? There is much more powder where the first handful came from." Her wings glittered with dust. "Girl, I will turn you! And for all this resistance I will lock you in your cocoon-form for at least ten years to come!"
