Melissa said that her apartment was close so we would be walking there through the park. It had gotten late after all the events with the ring and the sun had set a while ago. The night was quiet and the park was dark so we were surprised when at the edge of the park we are stopped by someone pointing a gun at us.
“Stay quiet, give me your money, and nobody gets hurt” said the mugger as he waved the gun between Melissa and me.
I was shocked at first and instinctively reached to toss him my wallet but I soon remembered the ring and wished that he would freeze. After some moments of silence where the man had ceased his movements and stood stock still with his gun pointing between us I sighed my relief.
I was about to leave the frozen would be mugger when Melissa stopped me
“Wait your just going to leave him like that”
“I will make him unfreeze when we are out of sight”
“Why don’t we take him with us. We could use a testing dummy”
“I guess he deserves a bit of punishment for what he tried to do, but won’t he draw unwanted attention because he looks like a mugger and has a gun”
“Just get rid of his gun and turn him into something less conspicuous”
“Ok let me think”
It took me a few seconds but I thought of a good way to make it work and made a wish.
“I wish that his gun was a collar and leash, and that he was in both mind and body an obedient dog”.
Before my eye the man in an instant was replaced by a corgi on a leash who looked up at me for directions. I picked up the leash and we continued our walk to Melissa’s apartment.
When we arrived Melissa mentioned that her roommate was with her boyfriend tonight so we would have the apartment to ourselves until later tomorrow. Her apartment was small and a little messy but it had a cozy charm to it. The decor was what you would expect from a goth girl with an interest in the occult. Melissa left me in her living room while she left for her room to get changed and said that I could start the dog’s punishment without her.
