Send the Forest Queen to Box Jail

added by YellowTomato A year ago A TG

At the foot of Mt. Lunar, near the entrance to itīs extensive network of caves and tunnels, you took a break at the BeastMon-Center.
While the two Beast-Girls of the team got a Heal in their BeastCubes, Josh and you sat down with another guest, a hiker with a reputation in BeastCube-craftmanship. The old man had heard you asking the nurse for a mechanic. He somehow looked like a dwarf out of fantasy, but in a modern, neon-green west. Now he gazed upon the destroyed BeastCube, the shards and segments spread out across the small table.
"Dead", he said. "As dead as my right pinky. Nothing you can do."
You sighed. "As I feared. At least it worked a short while after the breaking." Even with the BeastCube destroyed, you had managed to give Josh an evolving boost. As you told the hiker about that, he frowned and took the shard with the lazer-buzzer-whatsit.
"Really?"
You just pointed at your Bee-Ninja. "Not long ago I carried him like a backpack."
"Now he could carry you."
"At your service", Josh said promptly, albeit only you could understand him.
The hiker put the shard back. "Pretty much busted. You will need more than a screwdriver and glue for that. But you know, I know the right man for you."
"Really?"
"And he would be right on your way, near Cobalt City."

A bit later, the hiker had left, and your two female team members returned, passing their respective Cubes back to you.
"Back from the wellness", Annie declared, flopping down on the couch, whereas Racer sat down next to Josh. With all these evolved Beasties around you, you felt like an elementary school student, sitting with the cool kids from high school. Albeit, Josh would probably be a nerd from P&P, with his ninja-get-up. "Now, whatīs new?"
You told them about the hiker and the next step. "A guy named Phil lives near Cobalt City. The hiker said, he should have a look."
"Cobalt City would it be anyway", Annie nodded at the map, hanging on the wall behind the couch. "Easy."
You then put down the next, not so easy thing, placing the BeastCube with your newest capture on the table.
"So, what do we do with this one?", you asked around. "Josh, you first."
The Beeborer, so had called him the BeastDex, crossed his arms and sat straight. "Itīs not my decision, but I ... would feel on unease with her in the troop."
Annie smirked. "She is a bitch, so you say."
Josh bowed at the Heatdraka for that. "Spoken truly."
"I donīt like her, too", Racer said. "She is an evildoer."
You looked at Annie. "Your opinion?"
"She is powerful", Annie replied, resting her chin on her hand. Her blue eyes laid on the BeastCube. "And your Crest protects you, right?"
You winced at that, remembering the moment of her prodding with psychic powers into your mind until the Crest took action. "It protected me, right ... but it could not devolve her. She was not babyfied like you, just knocked down a few levels. She might have attacked me further if Josh would not have interfered."
"So what do YOU think?", Annie asked.
"I really donīt want her", you said firmly. "What if she breaks out at night, and when we wake up in the morning we are all Insects? - No offense, Josh."
"None taken."
"The Pauper Crest is too weak to control her, I think", you elaborated further.
Annie nodded. "So, what then? We could trade her for a better Beastie."
By that, Racer raised her hand. "But we are the heroes to her evilness, no? We should not give her away! She could do mean things to her next trainer."
"I second that", Josh said. "And we cannot release her, either. She would just reach for power again."
"Causing trouble and mischief", Racer added.
"Thatīs true", you noted. "She is not just a normal Butterflay. She is ... somehow changed." You had already told your BeastMon about the visions, the lab-things and all of that. "Giving her away is not an option."
"So then", Annie spoke up, "how about we put her in Box Jail?" She nodded right at the PC, standing in the corner of the Center. "We earn a few more Crests, see which powers come with that, and then we look further into her?"
You squinted at that. Box Jail. Putting her on storage. Well, if you ever added more then six Beasties to you collection you would use this Box System anyway.
"Okay. Letīs do that."
A few minutes later, you logged in and named one of your Boxes "Jail". Then, you put the BeastCube on a special scanner, and after a laser zapped it, the Cube just vanished. On the screen appeared the Butterfly-Woman, and even if she should not be able to see her - right? - she seemed to scowl directly at you and your team.
"Bye bye, bad guy", Racer trilled.
"Later, bitch", Annie said. "No naming ceremony for you."
Josh stood silent, just nodding at you.
"Okay. Then ... Letīs go find a new team member!"
One who wouldnīt try to deconstruct and rebuild you whole DNA.
