It was a nice sunny day, and Ryan was out on a walk in the town. Ryan was your typical college student, meaning that he blended in to the crowd well. He wasn't too skinny, not too big, did well in his classes, was moderately attractive with a short crop of wavy brown hair. Ryan was used to blending in, and sometimes just wished he'd be able to finally stand out more. Almost as a twist of fate, he soon came across something that would bring that to him.
Eventually on his stroll, he noticed something happening on someone's lawn, and when he headed over there, he realized that this person was having a big garage sale. Most of it looked like junk, but when he stumbled upon an oil lamp, he felt a strange attraction towards it, almost like it was giving off some sort of energy. It looked like one of those tacky genie lamps you would get from a Halloween store, but this one seemed to be genuine in make, if not a little banged up. Being that it was fairly dirty, the owner sold it for cheap. But Ryan didn't mind, he would just clean it up a bit when he got back to his apartment.
When he arrived back at his place, he started taking out some rags and cleaning supplies and got to working. And as he started rubbing it, he jokingly thought to himself about how it'd be funny if this lamp really was magic and a genie popped out just like in the movies.
And coincidentally, just as that thought crosseed his mind, a cloud of smoke billowed out of the nozzle, and once the dust settled, standing there in very baggy, silken fabric was a large, muscular man with beautiful tanned skin.
"Oh my God, I can't believe it, a real life genie!"
"I'm glad you can tell. I took this form so you'd get the gist faster. As you guessed, I am Gazmessal the genie, but you can just call me Gaz if you'd like. Little bit of a difference, though. For the next month, you are my master, and I will grant you as many wishes as you please. After that, I will move on to find my next home." That wasn't entirely true though, the genie did have to grant Ryan his wishes, but he could take whatever liberties he needed in order to see that wish was granted. And being that this genie was originally locked away for getting into an affair with a royal woman's husband, these liberties would maybe be more than what Ryan bargained for.
"Wow! I don't even know where to start. Maybe I could try for something smaller at first?" Ryan thought for a moment before saying, "I wish I had $1000."
Not wanting to stir the pot too early, the genie decided to make this one straightforward. "Granted."
Suddenly, ten $100 bills appeared on the bed next to Ryan. He looked down to the money with a giddy grin. "How far do your powers extend? Is there a limit on what I can do? You know like bringing people back from the dead, making people fall in love, yadda yadda."
"Well, I would prefer if you didn't break the universe, but other than that, not really."
"Interesting." Ryan said as he walked up to his window. He wanted to test this out, especially on more than just something material. Walking on the sidewalk below, he saw two guys who looked to be walking back from the gym. Thinking it would be funny to mess with these gym bros, Ryan made his next wish. "Gaz, I wish those two guys down there would start making out."
Gaz raised an eyebrow, he didn't even have to coax this out of him. Maybe Ryan would be an easier job than his usual masters. "Granted."
Ryan watched and laughed as the two guys stopped in their tracks and began kissing each other, occasionally feeling each other up. This went on for a few minutes, attracting the attention of a few onlookers, before the two separated and continued walking as if nothing had happened. What Ryan didn't know, however, was that Gaz, for his own fun, changed reality so that those two were in a committed relationship with each other.
"That was hilarious! I bet those two will have a lot to talk about later."
"Oh, I'm sure they'll be doing something later," Gaz said with a smile.
"I can't believe this is happening. I can just bend reality however I want with a simple wish. This isn't a dream, right?"
"As far as I'm aware, not yet. But are there any dreams I can make come true for you?"
Ryan stopped for a moment. If he could make anything happen, then he could finally make it so that people would notice him. "I wish..."
