Capturing the slumbering sheep-girl was as easy as stealing her mug. Not that you really stole her mug, you just put it away for the time being.
"Don´t want to spill it", you had said, giving the stein with the orange juice at Racer. "She could get angry about it."
"Angwy sheep!", Annie intonated with a high-pitched voice. Even that didn´t woke the Donnermäh up.
The BeastCube landed softly, first at the sheep herself, then on the grass. It beeped three times and laid silent. You picked the little monster container up. "Yes! Our next team member! - Right to the naming ceremony!"
Finally, it was a pretty long time since the last one. You had a whole mini-arc with an evil sub-boss squeezed between Josh´s naming and now this! Not to mention the whole Crest-thing with strange powers and all that.
The Donnermäh was released, and finally it woke up from it´s fairy tale slumber. She yawned soundly, her lamb-ears pricking and long eyelashes fluttering in bright daylight.
„Hallo Leute“, she finally said, „Ist was passiert?“
„She really is a german sheep“, Annie stated dryly.
You kneeled down next to her. "Hi, little one! I´m Lucy, your new trainer!"
Racer got down, too. "And I´m Racer, Hero of Route One and Beater of Storms!"
Josh didn´t kneel, but stood straight. "Name is Josh, prince of Ercu Forest. You speak to my liege mistress, who I serve on her journey."
"Annie", Annie just declared, scowling at her teammates.
You took the lead back. "Now, what should be your name ...", you said, but the Donnermäh answered:
"My name is Belle, nice to meet you all." Her voice was a soothing lullaby.
"Oh, you have one already? - It´s a cute one, so it´s okay for me to keep it."
"Ähm, yes I have", she replied lively. "I have a trainer, too! Oh no, I mean, I had one ... But now I have you, so I have ... Uhhh ..."
"You had one before me, you wanna say?"
"Yes, that is what I want to say."
Annie chimed in. "Why were you ditched here, somewhere in nowhere?"
Belle blinked idly at that. "My trainer said:", and her voice turned to a grumbling, "Your genes are really baaad, your nature is baaad, so I take your sister instaaad! Who is also your niece at your brothers side. " She shrugged. "And that is what he did."
"Sounds terrible", you deemed, then turned to Annie. You pulled at her hoodie so she would lower her head a little, whispering: "This is what competitive breeding is all about, right?"
"If someone would break down the game mechanics into real life, yeah", Annie replied. "Pretty much."
"Understood." You hesitated, and while Racer and Josh entertained Belle with their respective naming stories, you spoke further. "Annie, should we discuss the possibility that Belle´s trainer is a dimensional traveler just like us?!?" You held your pager at her face, with the Donnermäh-Info on display. "I mean, look at the ID, she really shouldn´t be here... am I not right?"
"Could just be a glitch, or an update", Annie just said.
