The limousine ship sailed through the oceanic planet’s atmosphere like a dolphin through water. It slowed down as it met the surface of the briny blue, traveling along it towards an island in the distance. The ship rode along a canal through alien palm trees and underbrush towards their destination.
Fiona held Polly’s box up against the window so that the toy sized human could get a look at her home town. It looked almost like a perfect replica of Venice, Italy, except as if humanity was replaced with these two-headed beings. There were two-headed gondola rowers singing duet with themselves as they serenaded twin-headed couples. In a classy restaurant she saw chubby two-headed diners twirling pasta with either hand. It amazed Polly that these hostile aliens, who she’d been led to believe were old school gangsters, were honestly quite civil. In a way… human!
“This is your new home, Polly,” Fiona said as they cruised past the town, “Isla Fettuccine. This is the island city the Garzolli crime family rules. We mostly run a henchman and drug trafficking racket, but it pulls in tons of money.”
“We do a fair bit more than just that, Fiona,” Mama explained, “The Garzolli family feeds a lot of money into Isla Fettuccine. We’re half the reason it’s so prosperous! Without us it probably would have gotten absorbed by Isla Athena or something.”
The limo ship cruised along the canal, past the main town and towards a rather large manor separate from the rest of it. “That’s my house,” Fiona exclaimed, “You’re gonna live in my room with me! I’m gonna show you to all of the family after we set up your new dollhouse. Don’t that sound fun, Polly? Polly?”
The small human was still too rattled by all she was hearing and seeing to answer.
“Aww, it’s okay,” Fiona said, “I know it’s probably scary having to live somewhere strange. I promise you’ll love living here!”
