Moon Lake: Jenkins; A walk in the night...

added by A Moon Lake Fan A year ago A

Trevor parked his truck near the Jenkins home and watched as a man walked away from the front door. Trevor watched as the man walked towards the hospital before climbing out of his truck and towards the front door. He knocked on the door and after a few minutes, he heard heavy foot beats approaching the door before it opened. "Trevor!" a flash of red blur called out before capturing him in her grasp.

"Mel!" Trevor said as he was being smothered in red fur. "It's good to see you too, but any reason why you're...uh...furry?"

"Well, uh, you see," Mel said as she released her grip on took a step back, "You remember Rachel, right? Well, she came by and we worked on our homework together. And well, she got a bit curious what I looked like as my fursona, so I showed her." She spun around as she said this, "And after she left, I thought about it for a moment, and well..." She waved her arms open as she continued, "I felt...like this is the real me. And I wanted to stay this way...at least for tonight."

Trevor studied her a bit and said, "Yeah, I can understand that." He took a quick look around and noticed that night had fallen, "So, uh, are you going out like that?"

Mel shifted her hips a bit as she put a hand on her hips, "Sure, and why not?" She posed to herself and said, "The night's young, and this is who I really am."

Trevor chuckled and said, "Okay, I get it. So, uh...how about you step on out and...uh..I'll get myself ready."

"Okay," Mel responded as she stepped out the door and watched Trevor head towards his truck.

"Just remember it's a school night," Harold called out from within the house.

"I know, Dad," Mel called back, "I'll be home before it's too late." Mel turned back and noticed a motion near Trevor's truck. She closed the door behind her and headed to the truck. As she did so, Trevor walked in front of her in his full werebull self. At first, Melissa was a little surprised, but then a smile appeared on her bovine face as she approached him. "Well, I like what I see," she said as she walked up to him.

"Well, I figured if you're going to go out as a werecow," Trevor said as he offered his arm to her, "you might want a werebull to match." Melissa smiled as she wrapped her arm around his and the two started to walk down the street.

"This is nice," Melissa said with a sigh, "Just the two of us. I mean we haven't been together since that night...when you changed me."

"Yeah," Trevor agreed, "I mean, things have been a little crazy lately, what with the academic team practice and meet coming up."

"So, Trevor," Mel started to ask, "Why did you get involved in the academic team?"

"It's hard to explain," Trevor answered, "I mean...you know how some weres have reputations. Reputations that are sometimes deserved and sometimes not."

Mel thought for a moment and said, "Like, how werewolves are territorial and tigers are overprotective?"

"Yeah," Trevor said as he nodded, "Something like that." He ran a hand through his hair as he continued, "Well, werebovines, like ourselves, aren't immune to this. Cows have a reputation of being rather dumb. I mean, it doesn't help that our family is a bunch of farmers and ranchers, but that reputation..." He shook his head as he continued, "It's not true. I mean, sure, we live a rather simple life, but we aren't dumb."

"I don't think you're dumb," Melissa said, "And I don't feel dumb since, you know, changed me."

Trevor chuckled before continuing, "As I said, it's a reputation. And it's something that's hard to shake. It's like wererats being criminals or wereraccoons being mischievous." Melissa slightly tightened her grip on Trevor when she heard that, "And it's something that I want to break. So, I joined the academic team."

Melissa stayed silent when she heard that before asking, "So, where do you want to go with this?"

"Honestly," Trevor said, "I want to see how far I can take this. I want us to go all the way to the state competition, and I want us to win. If we could do that...if I could do that..."

"Hey," Melissa said as he interrupted his thought, "You've got nothing to prove. At least to me."

"Yeah, I know," Trevor responded, "But I do got something to prove to myself."

"Well, you're a winner in my book," Melissa responded as she stepped in front of Trevor, "And I'm proud of you. I'll always support you." She wrapped her arms around Trevor's neck.

"I know," Trevor said softly, "And I thank you." After he said this, the two of them shared a tender kiss together, and one kiss led to another and to another as the two of them walked into the woods.
