It’s the half werewolf Winona! She’d reverted back to her usual form and was wearing some loose pajamas. She was rubbing at her eyes and yawning a bit.
“Good morning, Wyatt,” the wolf girl greeted, “Did you get any sleep last night?” All you could do was swivel your head at her and stare with exhausted eyes. “You neither, huh? Hey, don’t worry about it, yo. I have just the thing. Always wakes me right up after a long full moon night of howling at the ol’ moon. It’s a little thing I paid Welma to invent years ago called Deity Coffee. Stuff’s guaranteed to wake up long dormant gods, and works wonders for mortals like us.”
The wolf girl set a potion bottle with a brown liquid on your bedside table and pulled out one of her own. She uncorked it with her teeth and chugged the whole thing in one go.
“Blehck! Can never get used to that taste. It’s like… the blackest coffee!”
Sleepily you take your own bottle, pinch your nose, and swallow it like cough syrup. If you were to boil pure bitterness into a liquid, this would be exactly what it would taste like. Nevertheless, you suddenly felt well rested and ready to go fight the sun! You leapt out of bed, huge grin on your face.
“Damn! Thanks for that, Winona!” you smiled at your new roommate, “I feel ready to forgive y’all for keeping me up all night! Lemme just… hang on… My tailbone feels a bit… umm…” You feel around the back of your waist, and suddenly your hand brushes up against something growing from it, just above your butt crack. It feels… scaly.
“Lemme see,” Winona grabbed you by the shoulders and spun you around, “DUDE! I know what kind of tail you’re growing! Oh, yeah you’re growing a tail by the way. The town must recognize you as one of its own now and it’s slowly transforming you into a monster. Let’s see… blue scales… pointed tip… Wyatt, you’re gonna turn into a Lightning Dragon!”
