"Hello" I replied. Who was it? I tried to remember the other girls who worked for Paul were.
"Well are ya gunna let me in?"
"I'm just getting dressed"
"Ha! Well you had better put on somt'n nice. Ya wanted by the boss. Musta dun somtin really good or really bad!" You finally recognised the voice. Mindy. The new girl. Someone that as Marty you had never had the opportunity to meet intimately. You guessed now you would never get that chance. "Well are ya gunna let me in?"
You had women's underwear scattered all around the room. It was a mess. You looked for something to cover the corset and stockings. You grabbed a dressing gown and put it on. "Mindy. I'm coming"
You opened the door and saw it was Mindy and she was alone. "Jeez. What a mess!" She walked straight in. "So r ya gunna tell me wacha dun? Are yous in trouble?"
The former Marty knew enough to stay silent. He/she could not afford to let anyone know what had happened. "No idea. Who sent you here?"
"Madge. Sent me up to get you. Just said 'Tell her to put on something classy as she is having dinner with the big boss'. Sounds good to me"
Madge was the madam a former girl herself, but now she ran the girls. Marty could remember Madge when she was still a working girl. "What do you think I should wear?" You had no idea what classy meant. As Marty you had not exactly been a snazzy dresser. At least Mindy had always been a woman. She would know more than you.
"You asking me to show you classy! Now I nose ya ribbing me!"
"No I'm serious. If it was you who had to meet the boss. What from my wardrobe would you wear?"
Mindy seemed thrilled that you were asking for her help. She went to Tammy's wardrobe and began looking through the clothes. She quickly narrowed it down to two outfits - both dresses, one royal blue and the other red. "I'd wear the red but I's recken the blue suits you betta"
"What time? Where do I go?"
She looked at you strangely "I dunno. Go see Madge when your ready. I imagine she'll take you"
"But how long do I have?" You were going to need a lot of time. Were you expected to wear make-up? Probably. You had no idea.
"I spose I can find out"
