You’ve been preparing for this, you’ve said it in your mind that this game wasn’t gonna beat you, and you intend to show everyone what you can do. You take a deep breath and flawlessly take down the guards without getting hit. Your fan upgrades to a sword inside the main house as you dodge the traps effortlessly. You waste no time taking in the scenery as you pull off anime style techniques to take out the stronger soldiers in the castle town. You grab some armor and get the final upgrade while climbing the floors of the castle. You grab two scrolls as they fill you with power, you flex instinctively as you feel it flow into you. Your eyes glow as you reach the throne room and await the boss fight.
The elder of the village is surprised to see you, but looking at your eyes, he starts to shake. He must have sensed your power and is quite shaken by your ability. Pulling out a sword, you channel energy as three spirit swords follow, you prepare a specific battle stance and fighting technique that you are sure is gonna beat the elder. He readies his armor and signature weapon, a naginata, and swallows hard. He is not ready for you, but you are more than ready for him. The two of you clash, he tries his best to keep you on your toes, but it’s obvious that he’s scrambling. You overpower him quickly as he falls, you giving him precise cuts and gashes with a few swings of your swords. He attempts to bind you with the leaves and talismans scattered on the floor, but you’ve rendered them useless by slashing them with your spirit swords. He pulls out a black talisman and placed it on his forehead, causing him to transform.
His eyes go bloodshot as he wretches in pain, holding his head in his paws. His fur darkens as he starts to get a double tone through his pained moans. The face from his mask is gone, replaced with his own demonic scowl. Time to begin the second phase of this fight.
He’s much quicker and stronger this time, giving you an actual struggle, but not to the point where you risk losing. You clash again and again, even trade energy blows at each other until his demonic power weakens. Preparing a charged slash, you say something in Japanese that you can’t remember where it originated or why you said it, but it just seemed to fit. The slashes connected as he disintegrates into ash, nothing left to salvage. Your mission was almost done. All you needed was to use the opening scroll on the barrier and escape.
Making your way to the barrier, you look at your stats in your HUD, you’re making pretty good time, and your stats are the best you can possibly get them to be. You wonder what is gonna happen after you leave the game, but you decide to wait and answer that question when you’ve actually beaten the game. You place the opening scroll against the barrier and watch as a black hole starts to erase the forest. Using your new powers and stats, you prepare to make a charged dash straight out of the village. You feel good, after all those guides and specific training routines you went through, you finally made it to the end of this game. With all this in mind, you boost through the bamboo at high speed and send yourself away from the encroaching black hole that is destroying everything behind you. Your HUD flashes “Congratulations! You’ve escaped the Tanuki Forest!” as you digitize back into reality…
