Alex owned a new 4 door Mustang. He really was the playboy type. As the shortest Henry found himself getting into the rather cramped back seat with Alex's hand giving his bum a gentle nudge. Alicia took the front passenger seat. For once Henry appreciated that he was no longer 6’2.
The tour they were promised proved to be visits to a botanical garden and a waterfall. The places were attractive but nothing Henry and Alicia could not have visited on their own. At the waterfall there was a Hawaiian traditional dance taking place that they watched. Henry did not hear Alex’s explanation of what was going on and could not ask. They were a bit hurried as evidently a tee-off time of 4 pm at Richards golf club had been arranged.
Richard was waiting for them with two electric buggies loaded with clubs. Alex pulled his own golf bag from his boot. Henry and Alicia just had time to change shoes and tee off. As Henry had half expected he teamed with Richard while Alicia partnered Alex. The rules were simple. Henry and Richard shared a ball between them and took turns in having the stroke.
Henry had to admit that the pro’s were a class above. On the first hole the pro’s declared the ladies had to tee off. (from the ladies tee of course). Henry hit straight but not as far as Alicia. It was actually quite a competitive battle. Alicia and Alex both had an advantage when it came to length but Richard and ‘Rachel’ tended to be more accurate with the putts. Henry got advice from Richard before every stroke but at least Henry did not have to endure the hands on advice that Alicia got with every one of her strokes.
Watching Alex repeatedly putting his hands on Alicia’s hips, apparently showing how she needed to swing them to improve her stroke was quite nauseating. Alicia seemed to be enjoying the attention and spent most of the afternoon giggling at Alex’s witticisms. Henry’s only consolation was the knowledge that Alex would have a heart attack if he discovered what was inside Alicia’s panties.
Richard did give Henry some good advice and several times he did touch Henry to show how to adjust his grip or stance. However to Henry the contact did not seem unnecessary or excessive. He actually liked Richard.
It was almost perfect conditions with no wind and the match went down to the wire. They were tied starting the last hole and as she had done all day Alicia out-drove Henry. But Richards two iron second stroke landed on the green only 3 yards from the hole whereas Alex overshot and the ball ended up in a sand bunker.
Following a lot of hip touching advice from Alex, Alicia swung her sand wedge and the ball flew towards the hole. To Henry’s dismay it hit the pin and dropped in for a birdie. There were screams of delight from Alicia followed by a copy of the hand slaps and hugs between Alicia and Alex, Henry had witnessed on that first golf game of the honeymoon.
But they had not won yet. The pressure was now on ‘Rachel’. Henry had to hole the three yard putt to tie the game. Richard was in his ear pointing out the line he thought the ball would need to take. His advice was for ‘Rachel’ to aim about a foot to the left of the hole.
