“Where were you this whole time!?” Juliet asked, sprinting at him, wrapping her arms around him in a huge hug,
“Ahah… it’s a long story,” Clyde said,
“Well, we’ve got a whole car journey for you to tell it,” Jane said, appearing behind Juliet. As did Kelly, being his usual quiet yet cool self.
“I’ll face you all to the car!” Juliet said excitedly,
“Excuse me, ma’am,” a kind, older man who seemed to work there, said to Juliet, “try not to run in here. You could alarm the other customers, or hurt yourself,”
“oh,” Juliet said, “I’m sorry…”
“no, no. Don’t apologise,” he said “it’s just to keep everyone safe,” he said, giving a genuine smile at the end.
“Of course, sir,” Juliet said, smiling thankfully.
Juliet, Jane, and Kelly headed for the exit, but Clyde was stopped by an employee,
“Sir,” the woman stated, “I don’t believe you paid for your items,” she said, with an accusatory tone. But before Clyde could say anything, she was pulled aside by what was likely her manager. She looked back at Clyde, realising exactly who he was,
“Oh my… sir I’m so so sorry.” She apologised a number of times, “I’m so sorry for the inconvenience. We noticed that you didn’t already have a white box,” she said, handing one to Clyde.
It was the same box that Alaska used to revert back from changes.
“Can I offer you a free candy as an apology?” She asked,
“No, I’m all good,” Clyde said, “I appreciate it, but it’s okay. But why don’t I say that your coworkers can pick one candy for you to eat and ‘enjoy’ for the rest of your shift?”
Instead of fear or anger, she looked relieved,
“Of course sir, if that makes you happy!” She said,
Clyde smiled back. Then, he made his way to the exit with his friends.
Before he left, he looked back at the place,
“We gotta come back here,” he said,
