Drinking tea and talking Powers

added by YellowTomato A year ago A TG

You heed the BeastBoys warning and went to the door, your BeastMon following you at once. The machine already began huffing and puffing, with flickering lights and all of that.
"Letīs go outside for a while, guys. I really like all of you, but letīs not take a risk here."
In front of the cottage you waited with baited breath. What might come out of the machine? Maybe an even bigger monstrosity? - Wait, the boy was not really a monstrosity to begin with, just a little less cute in your own eyes. As your rival once had said, you liked the BeastGirls simply more than the BeastBoys. Being predictable was not a good thing in this kind of game, but ... it was all about the fun in the end, right?
As you mused about your ways of life, the cottage began to stir up. You all took another step back. The building was shaking, with steam shooting out of the chimney! Then, there was away too loud *BING*. Then, the cottage stopped behaving like a micro wave. The door opened, steam waving out, and a flash of bright pink shot out!
"Jigpie!" Jumping down the veranda was a magical girl in a frilly dress, armed with an equally pink wand. "Jig-Jig-Jigpie!" With the tip of her weapon she drew a heart in midair, which glew bright and then puffed up like a fire cracker.
Behind her, a young man stepped out. "Phil!", he declared with a wide smile, "Phil, Phil, Phil! - I mean, it worked!"

Later, you sat in the cottageīs garden, drinking tea with Phil, while your BeastMon roamed around.
Josh stood at attention like a royal guard, high atop the chimney, watching the surrounding country side and the sea. Annie and Racer were a little less watchfull, walking with bare feet in the sand. Sometimes they kicked it at each other.
The most in-vigilant were the two BeastChilds, Belle and Philīs Jigpie. They built a sand castle. As Annie and Racer walked up to them, conflict was inevitable. Teenagers and kids, what could you do?
You held Racerīs goggles in your hands, watching the ocean. Sometimes you saw a fin, and a human upper body. Of course there were mermaids in this game. You smiled at the thought of swimming with one, after making her your new pal.
Phil was busy with the shards of your destroyed BeastCube. He sipped his tea, diligently rummaging in the small pile. "What a damage. BeastCubes are build to withstand high pressure, you know?"
"Maybe the sharp edges and corners are a weak point", you said with a sly grin.
"Thatīs what I say every time", Phil replied, picking up a small crystal. "But alas, the world is just not ready for round Cubes."
"Would you still call them Cubes then?"
"How else?"
You raised an eyebrow at that, but then shrugged it off. Sitting here in the sunlight was just so beautiful. You changed the topic. "So, teleportation is your Area of Expertise?"
"It is one of my hobbyhorses, at least. You know about the BeastMon Storage System?" You nodded, and he raised a finger. "Hah, thatīs my invention."
"Youīre kidding! Youīre only ... I donīt know ... twenty, and this system seems to be so established like ... I donīt know, the internet!"
"Almost thirty!", he objected. "You know, one has to have at least ONE groundbreaking invention under his belt before he reaches adulthood, or he will be a nobody forever."
You choked at your tea. "Oh my."
"You are setting out to become a BeastMon Champion well before you become fifteen, no?"
"Well, I ... I guess."
Meanwhile at the beach, Annie was going Godzilla at Belleīs and Jigpieīs sand castle. Racer was at her hero persona and tried to stop her, supported by the children.
"Now that I think about it, with Crest Powers we Trainers can appear older, right?"
Phil smiled. "And many do. Molly, the Arena Boss of Cobalt City, loves to introduce noobs to this kind of power. - You already learned about it?"
"Yes, more than once." You recounted your little tales with the Pauper Crest-power. Meanwhile, Phil implanted a few parts of the destroyed Cube into a new one. He did it so fast and silent, a nerd genius solving a Rubikīs Cube. He noticed your enthusiasm for Crest Powers.
"You know, Lucy, there is more than aging up and down to this."
"I heard of that from Professor Kao, but nothing specific. He was tight-lipped about it."
"Of course, to not overwhelm the noobs we experts are withholding a lot of information. But ... you know, you seem to pick up this kind of stuff pretty quickly. And you helped me, so how about I teach you about one of the powers you will encounter pretty soon?"
"Which one?"
