This time Kate got out of bed and ran to the kitchen where she had left her phone. She got there in time to see it was Kerry. She answered “Hi”
“Hi Kate, We are about to leave. Did you get my message?”
“No. I haven’t heard it yet”
“Just wondering if I should bring anything for Tom. You know just in case he can’t change back”
“Um. Good thought. I suppose one of your bra’s would be handy. He’ll need one and mine wouldn’t be big enough”
“I’ll bring some clothes over as well. Mine will clearly fit him better than any of yours”
“Yeah. Makes sense. Anything you can spare I suppose. I’m hopeful we won’t need them but best to have something just in case. Maybe jeans and a shirt. I don’t think he would want anything too girly” Kate wasn’t going to admit she had found Tom in her bridesmaids dress. That could remain a secret between her and Tom.
Kate knew it would take about 20 minutes for Kerry and Michael to make the drive if you added maybe 10 minutes for Kerry to collect some clothes that gave then at most 30 minutes before the visitors arrived. She hurried Tom out of the bed telling him the situation and claiming first shower, before telling him to strip the sheets from the spare bed and put them in the wash basket.
15 minutes later she was out and drying her hair and telling Tom, who was still clad in the bridesmaid dress to get in the shower himself.
Kate dressed and quickly tidied up the kitchen and lounge before hearing a car pull up outside. She could still hear the water running in the shower.
