"Bad news about that," the Werewolf Doctor said. "There's really limited options for someone of your scale. It's not like we have houses for thirty six foot tall scorpion men."
Chris blinked. "Oh really? I thought that housing was guaranteed in the relocation areas."
The Doctor shrugged, "There are exceptions. Technically accommodation is provided to all and for most people here a house or apartment is provided as they wish. For our larger citizens we have more limited choices." She moved to a nearby tent, out of sight from Chris. "I've got the options written here," she called out, back to him.
Chris crossed his arms over his tubby belly, feeling a slight coat of sweat already from the warm sun overhead. His skin felt strange as well, slick. Looking closer he could barely make out the streaks of sunscreen through the tinted goggles he wears. How thoughtful. But probably expensive.
The Doctor returned a moment later with a printout on plain paper. She waves it towards Chris. "We can offer you a large bit of farmland no one has settled yet and you will have the option to figure things out yourself but there are three other options for accommodation." Chris nods, "You're stalling."
"Well they aren't exactly the most...nice options. If you want to stay out in the more "frontier" parts of the Settlement Area a surveyor has identified a box canyon they can put sailcloth over. It's be pretty open to the elements but supposedly you're a pretty tough cookie. If you wanted to stay in a quiet community - like most of us end up choosing - there's an old private airfield with three airplane hangers. Two are already occupied but the third was recently vacated. Lastly there are really only two cities that are still occupied in the settlement area. There's Aurora over on the Ohio River. It's more or less the only port of entry in the settlement area. The dock manager there was looking for a loader and said they had an old warehouse they could convert for you. But the cities are...well they are complicated, I'll just say that. So, what'll it be?"
Chris thought on it for a moment and tentatively said...
