He walked down the stairs to the kitchen and spotted a girl his age drinking a bottle of water. "Hey," he said.
"What's up? Just getting a drink," Sherry said.
"I thought you needed help with the groceries?" Jeff said.
"I did?" Sherry said, looking around. "I guess we should put them away."
Upstairs, the computer the Chronovac was connected to finished its countdown and began taking corrective action. Jeff and his mother couldn't be the same age. That was a reality impossibility. Something would need to change.
What would have to stay the same was Sherry would have to stay 16. That was the program being run. However, everything else was up for consideration.
