"Perhaps it was a drug, slipped into that last round of drinks. Perhaps it was an ancient curse, stirred back to life by the idiotic behavior of teenagers eager to graduate high school. Or maybe it was simply something that came one day, and changed everything."
The unseen figure looked over several pictures depicting various worlds contained within. Depicted in each was the catalyst of the various transformations that were due to occur. A vial full of blue liquid, a strange substance filtering into the water in a small town, a cursed tomb being fooled with by a bunch of jocks eager to impress one another and their lovely lady friends. None knew what, exactly, they were getting themselves into.
"All that is known for sure, however, is that all these people, regardless their dissonant and distinct lives, will be changing in some way shape or form." The figure ran his fingers - gnarled and wretched - over the various pictures. "What will we look into first...?"
"Shall it be the story of Liam Malcolme, small town police officer?" The figure picked up one of the images, "A new street drug is all the rage among the wealthier side of town. It promises to strengthen the body and sharpen the senses - but it has some rather dire side effects. Those who use it get quite in touch with their inner animal. Will Liam stay off it long enough to find out who's dealing? Or will the self-styled "hot cop" find himself in a different role in the police?"
"Or will it be the story of Jude Branson, a shy former academic and current football prodigy? Eager to impress his new friends, Jude goes along with them to an old sunken place. Where they will find themselves changing the more they return to it and satiate their growing curiosity."

"There is also, of course, the tale of Derrick Brady - a science prodigy whose genius goes completely unappreciated, whereas his brother Jack Brady is widely regarded as the hero of the school. Perhaps Derrick yearns to take his revenge by reassigning his brother's species? Or will he try and "correct" his social standing via a transformation done unto himself...?"
The figure turned, and grinned, "Whatever the case, I'm certainly going to be having fun."
