"So, that's the last of it," Virginia said as she stretched her arms.
"Not quite," Harold said as he grinned at her. "There's still a couple of things that we need to take care of. After we get back from our honeymoon, what are you going to do about your house? I assume you'll be moving here?"
"Mmmm..." Virginia said as she thought, "I DO like the idea of saying 'our'...but about after our honeymoon, I'm not quite sure yet. I'm thinking about just renting that house out. I hear rumors of a new hire at my school. Maybe we could rent the house to him...or her...or them if they're a family."
"A new family or new neighbor, huh..." Harold said as he thought for a moment. "How do you think they'll take our rather...unique circumstances here?"
Virginia shrugged and said, "Well, you never know when it comes to new people. Some people embrace it while others try to run from it. Hopefully, it won't cause too many problems."
Harold thought for a moment and asked, "And I'll take it that you're going to keep the furniture there?"
"Yeah," she said, "Although, the house might need some cleaning. Once after the wedding's over of course."
"Oh, I'm sure Melissa and I can give you a hand. She might even bring a couple more hands," Harold said with a smile. "And I think that's all there's left."
"Well," Virginia said with a coy smile on her lips, "There is just ONE more thing before I go." She sat back in her chair before she continued. "Would you mind...if...well..." She continued rather softly, "If I left my were birth control pills at home?"
Harold's eyebrows shot up when he heard that. "What brought that on?"
"Well, I mean...since we're becoming family," she said softly, "I mean, why wait? We're not exactly a young couple, and we're both pretty well established in our careers. We definitely could support a cub. And it would..." she sighed, "It's really hard for me to explain."
He took a breath and said, "I'll leave that part up to you. If you do end up pregnant, I'll continue to support and love you whatever you decide."
She smiled and said, "Well, then, I'll surprise you then." She gave another grin at Harold and said, "So, want to go into the woods. Melissa's not back yet and I wouldn't mind."
"Tempting," Harold said with a smirk, "but I think we've got enough to do tonight, and it's a school night. We both have work tomorrow, and we're both responsible adults."
Virginia stuck her tongue out and said, "Spoilsport. You're no fun tonight."
"Oh, I'm plenty fun," Harold said, "Mel always rolls her eyes when she hears my jokes." Harold walked over to Virginia and said, "Besides, we can have all the fun we want after the wedding."
Virginia giggled and said, "Okay, mister. But I'm holding you to that." She then gathered her things and started to make her way out of the door, but before she left, she turned, waved her hand at Harold, and said, "See you tomorrow?"
Harold waved back and said, "After school, maybe."
Virginia rolled her eyes and said, "Fine. Besides, I hear tomorrow's going to be busy." With that, she walked out the door with Harold grinning at her.
He sat back down at the table to gather the papers that he and Virginia were looking at when the door opened again. He looked up and saw his werecow daughter walking through. "Glad to see you home. I take it your date went well,"
"Oh yeah," Melissa said, a funny grin appearing on her muzzle. She looked around and asked, "Where's Virginia?"
"Oh, she went home already," Harold answered as he scooped up the last of his papers. "School night and whatnot. I'll note that you are home at a decent hour."
"Yeah yeah," Melissa said, "You can blame Trevor for that, being responsible and all that."
"Glad to hear it," Harold said.
Melissa started to go up the stairs before pausing and then went back down to see her father. "Oh, dad," Melissa started, "Trevor invited me to his farm tomorrow night. The Tyson's are going to welcome me into their herd."
"Really?" Harold said as he raised an eyebrow. "Aren't you a little young to be getting married? I'd hope you wait till you were in college at least."
"Oh," Melissa said, "It's nothing like that. That's just what they call their group. I hear Tyson's younger sister is turning fourteen tomorrow, so it's a birthday celebration too."
Harold blinked as he heard that. There's something familiar about that age, but he couldn't put his finger on what it meant. He shrugged and said, "That's fine, but remember there's a wedding the next morning, so I expect you to be here and ready for it. So, don't stay out too late."
"Kay," Melissa responded as she bounded up the stairs in hooves. Harold could only chuckle as he shook his head.
When Melissa got up the stairs, she headed to the bathroom. As she did so, she changed back to her human self. Even though it was barely a week since she turned, she was already getting used to life as a werecow. In fact, she preferred to being in her werecow fursona than her human form, and she felt a bit sad when she had to change back. The house they were living in, though, didn't suit a werecow build very well. She finished brushing her teeth, and then wiped her mouth with a towel. She then headed to her bedroom and laid down on her bed.
While she couldn't quite sleep in her bed as a werecow, she did the next best thing to sleeping in the fur. When Melissa first changed, she was a bit self-conscious about her new self. But, as she became accustomed to her new self, she grew comfortable with her body. She didn't have problems stripping in front of people so she could change into her werecow self. She didn't consider herself a nudist by any measure, but it was something that she found herself being comfortable with. She also found that she preferred to sleep nude. Although she'd prefer to sleep as a werecow, she wasn't sure that her bed frame could handle her being a werecow without breaking. Maybe once all the craziness was over, she could ask Harold for a sturdier bed.
