You and Brenda are standing just outside the town. And after having spent the better half of an hour trying to find an alternative way in, you both are stumped. "Fuck it, I am just gonna roll for it. Worst case we just cause a bit of a commotion is all, right?" You say after giving up.
You roll the dice and land a 19, meaning that you almost are guaranteed to get in. Brenda let's out a sigh in relief after hearing this. So now the two of you can enter the town, hopefully unimpeded.
After waiting in line for a bit, it is finally your turn to go through the checkpoint. Brenda already is through and waiting as well. You approach the guard, who looks you up and down, doing his best to not stare too much and be professional, although the same can't be said about the other guards behind him, who haven't taken their eyes off of your chest.
"Hmm, so what's with the slime?" Asks the guard while pointing to the small blue slime on your shoulder. "It's...uh... it's my pet?" You say unconfidently. The guard raises an eyebrow. "Your pet... right... well, everyone has their own fetishes I guess. Anyways, we are now going to check you for any criminal aspects of your person, such as a title or a criminal skill like Smuggling. Please place your hand on this crystal."
You do as asked and since there is no crime you have committed, and your skills and titles all check out, you are free to pass. Thankfully, since you look human, no one even bothers to check your race, ironically your one incriminating aspect, and are let into the town without any issue outside of a judgmental guard who now thinks you have a slime fetish or something. Either way, you are in, so that's all that matters.
After being given directions, you and Brenda head right to the guild to both sell some things and to get some information. It is a short walk, as the building is just a few hundred feet down the road from the main gate. And when you enter inside, it is fairly calm, likely due to it being the early afternoon and all. Brenda approaches the reception desk to ask for some information while you go to sell the extra items that she and you had collected from when you were gathering ingredients at the adjacent counter. You actually manage to get quite a bit for them too, and have a good chunk of spending money now.
After Brenda finishes and handing her half of the profits, she tells you that 2 days ago, a group of 2 who matched 2 of your friend's descriptions came in and asked if they had seen an Amazonian, an Archer, and/or a Knight of your descriptions, which they obviously hadn't yet.
Your friends seem to be currently out doing a job and should return later today apparently, if nothing goes wrong that is. But not much can go wrong when all they had to do was kill a few simple creatures out in the forest. It's just an entry level quest after all, meant for those who just became of age, are just starting out, and/or have never fought before. So they should be fine.
It would seem that Ned is still MIA. But at least Judy and Damon are together. And Ned can probably handle himself for a while. Now that you got the information, you and Brenda rent a room for the night at the adjacent inn and head out to explore the town for a while. You also leave a message at the guild for if Judy and Damon return before you get back.
"So what should we do for the time being?" You ask Brenda. She thinks for a few seconds then gets a suspiciously devious grin when she notices a certain store nearby. She doesn't even give you a chance to say anything and grabs your wrist with a grip that didn't hurt, but you in no way could escape from. She then drags you to the store. And upon seeing where she is taking you, you fruitlessly attempt to escape her grip. You even rolled for it and got a 2, which only cemented her grip to be even firmer.
