With the first week of October under way, everyone was getting ready for one of Animalia's greatest events, Spookyville. While it was one of those that made autumn a bit more tolerable, there were still some things that even Animalia couldn't 'fix', but there were a few things that could be done. For example, the GGAC was helping out by clearing out gardens of old growth in preparation for next year, as well as the age-old "tradition" of raking leaves out of people's yards. This second one had another fun part in Animalia where all the leaves were dumped in the public park so children could play in them, which many did, even though there were some herbivore Animalians that were tempted to eat the leaves.

One of the things that was going mega-viral mega-quickly, especially on the Animalia website was coverage of Heiya Island's Moon Festival. While the majority of the coverage was done by the Quasi-Raccoon Cuties, they were able to get some "coverage" from Animalia Ambassadoria, even though they weren't official members. What made it stand out was how different it was from other celebrations in Animalia, even to those who had become used to said celebrations.
While everyone on Heiya Island had enjoyed the Moon Festival, there were still those who were planning on arriving for Spookyville. This inspired a new theme for 2021: the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons. The overall theme paralleled the Shinto tale of Amaterasu Hides Away but with one clear difference: Amaterasu's gem and mirror had been stolen by an unknown "snake man", separated and hidden in the mortal world, so Susanoo was tasked with recovering them. Not long into his quest, Susanoo encounters Heracles (done up as his Greek namesake), and after a scuffle (dramatized for show), they become allies to seek down the missing gem and mirror, and rain "holy retribution on a snake-man's head" as someone on the website commented.

There was more than enough time to look over the plan for Dino City's Spookyville, as well as plan something for Skull Island. After some reviewing, it was plain that not everyone who wanted to become raptors wanted to be herm raptors, much to the relief of Dakota and Harper, who now had less work to do in interviewing potential herm converts. But what was also clear was the fact that those who wanted to be herms didn't want to just be Dakotaraptors, so there was plenty of new opportunities without altering the plans too much.
