"I'd like to be 40, I think. At least that way I'll still be an adult and able to continue my life." Danny said, hesitantly.
Simon turned to the Chronivac and said, "Then it's settled. You'll get 15 years back. I think Mark should experience what it's like to be my age, so he should age twice what you regress. Don't worry Danny- he's learn to deal with it. We all do."
Simon plugged in the age alterations to the Chronivac, setting up the simulation for the next day, before wishing Danny an early goodnight before turning in.
The next day, Mark woke up with an aching pain in his back. Groggily, he tried to right himself on his bed, but an alien object seemed to stop his movement. He looked down and saw a large, jiggly gut resting on his lap, covered in white hair. Slowly, he rose from his bed, mindful of the pain in his back. Shuffling over to the blurry outline of the bedside vanity, he gasped as he saw his reflection in the mirror.
His physique was the first thing he noticed- his once toned muscles seemed to had faded with age, leaving flabby moobs in place of his once defined pecs and a large belly hanging over the waistband of his striped boxers. Reaching down on the vanity for his glasses- that he now remembered he had worn for the past 15 years. He sadly realized that he weighed slightly more than even Jay now. Wincing, he took in how age had affected his face.
His once long beard has been manually reduced by Simon's Chronivac meddling- and his shaved head seemed to had grown back, leaving a short, white, and thin fringe around the sides of his head. Feeling around his mouth, he noticed that it was completely void of teeth. Thinking back, he remembered having to have them pulled after dental decay set in, despite his best attempts at staving it out. Looking down again, he reached for his dentures, which were in the space that he always put them.
Mark mourned the loss of his toned physique and also his mastery over the Chronivac- it seemed now that the simulation was Simon's to control, not his.
Mark assessed his new memories- he remembered Bryan bringing Simon home from the hospital, though he had trouble remembering his mother. He had recently retired from working at the Shop at the age of 75 in order to take better care of his father. Pulling clothes from his closet, he went down stairs to greet his family before they headed to the shop on this monday morning.
