The ‘Ladies’ utilised the bathroom in the pro-shop to get ready for dinner. Alicia reapplied ‘Rachel’s” make-up and her own. They both put their heels back on.
It was a bit early for dinner so they went to a bar for drinks. Henry had learnt his lesson from last night and just had a lemon squash. The conversation was just between the three others. Henry had to continue to be mute 'Rachael' and just nod and smile. Alex and Richard spoke of all the places around the world they had visited. Richard had evidently played as a pro on the European circuit while Alex had spent a summer in Australia.
Henry noticed that Alex was continually big-noting himself. He really didn't like Alex. But perhaps that was partially because Alex had sat beside Alicia and had somehow managed to place his arm across her shoulders. Henry was annoyed that Alicia had not shrugged him off. Instead she was looking at Alex with puppy eyes and giggling at his lame jokes. Henry's only consolation was that with a penis hidden in her panties Amelia was unlikely to take things any further than just flirting.
Dinner was nice. Henry let Amelia do the ordering for both of them. He now had her taste buds so she would know better than him what he would like. He ended up having some fancy Thai dish.
Richard was attentive of his needs. He was humble and self depreciating where Alex was brash and cocky. Yet at the same time Richard had an aura of competence about him. He might sound humble but he was not lacking in self confidence. Henry liked him and in other circumstances could have seen the possibility of a friendship developing.
After she had finished her meal Alicia reminded Alex that "We need to be back at resort by 11. Rachel needs her meds. How do we pay?"
Richard replied "No it's all fixed up. The only payment I want is a dance with your sister" He glanced at Henry and gave a smile.
"Do we have time? It's an hour's drive back"
"We have a band in the other bar” said Richard "They should be starting soon. We can take our drinks across"
“I promise I we will get you back to the resort. There is a faster route home. But first I would like a dance as well" Alex
was looking at Alicia.
Alicia just gave a giggle and accepted Alex's proffered hand to help her out of her seat. "Well we had better hurry in that case. We do both enjoy dancing" That was strictly true. Henry did enjoy dancing - with Alicia. It was one of their favourite past-times. However normally he would lead his wife around the floor. He wasn't so keen to be led around the floor by a man. He flashed a look of alarm at Alicia. But she just replied with her sweet smile and picked up her handbag. She was still holding Alex's hand as he led her from the room.
Henry felt he had no choice but to accept Richards hand and follow.
