Jennifer noticed a lovely black headband with a couple of black fabric roses on one side. That looked like it was just the thing to cap off her ensemble. She put it on and adjusted it in the mirror. It looked really cute, especially with her well-trimmed bangs.
Another last bit of inspiration led her to find a couple of hair ties, which she used to do up her silky straight hair into prim pigtails right behind the headband. She smiled into the mirror. The youthful hairstyle helped offset the slight aging effect of her overall gothic look and makeup.
She turned to the side and murmured to herself. "I tied those kind of high up, but it looked good when the hair was longer down my back." Within seconds, her hair grew a few inches longer, passing her mid-back and stopping closer to her waist. A bit longer than she'd expected, but it satisfied her wish. Strangely enough, the growth didn't change the position of the pigtails on her head. It seemed more like the hair had stretched downward from the ties than grew out from the scalp, to keep her pigtails nice and secure.
Not daring to complain about such a convenient result, Jennifer toyed with the twin tails. She pulled them over her shoulders to see how they looked draping over her chest. They'd get in the way while she browsed, but maybe at the party she'd wear it like that. She tossed her hair back again and headed out of the aisle, ready to show off her look to Lola and her friends.
