Stacey, a secondary school teacher, was always positive after having a tough childhood with never knowing her dad and her mother dying when she was young. But a string of failed relationships, with both male and female partners, she desired for change.
Rejection after rejection, Stacey had almost given up hope till she saw the opportunity of a life time, teaching on the island and applied without much thought assuming it would lead to another rejection. But only a few hours later, she received an invitation for an interview and without hesitation, she accepted. The interview was in smart modern building in the centre of town, there were a few more applicants in the waiting room, all dressed in smart attire. Stacey took a seat and then they were called into a room with a projector why they were told to watch a short informational video on the island.
The video showed how beautiful the island was. Blissful beaches and large open fields. Then the video showed the various activities that the centaurs and centaurides were able to do on the island. Stacey was mesmerised by the athletic strong bodies of the centaurs, as they swam the in the crystal clear waters of the island, galloping through the meadows. Then the video ended. Stacey was overwhelmed with the thoughts and excitement of working with these magnificent people.
Then one by one, the applicants were called into a meeting room. Stacey was called and she entered the room with two people, they went through her mediocre at best CV and ask her a few questions about her past experiences. “Why do you want to teach on the island?” The interviewer asked,
“ I want to help and make the island prosper for years to come, by guiding the future today…” her prepared speech went on. The interviewers asked a few more questions and then the interview ended. But by the time Stacey had driven home, she had been offered the job. She was over the moon and accepted immediately.
3 weeks pasted and she set off to the island via a private plane with a few other passengers. As flew, her thoughts then moved to the herds, what were they like? Who would she be teaching them or maybe the child of the staff? Then Stacey thought on becoming a Centaurides herself, how strong would she be? How quick could she run? How long would it take her to learn run? Then she realised she was perfectly healthy and the processes must be so expensive, there was no mention of the becoming a centaur with the job, so she calmed to the conclusion that she would just keep her human body. After what seemed like many hours, Stacey arrived on the island…
