Sister Donna moved to New Rhodes on the same Sunday as the rest of her Sisterhood. She couldn’t believe her luck that she’d been selected by one of the Sages personally to help spread the holy word of the goddess O’bby’shx, She of Vast Stomach. It felt like only yesterday that she became a Clergywoman, and now she was out on an important mission from the Sage of Breakfast, one of the Seven Sages closest to the first woman to receive O’bby’s fattening visions.
Moving into her new house was a simple enough matter, once all of the legal paperwork was filled out and they were registered with the realtor. Her hair was more flaxen in color, pulled into pigtails to compliment her green eyes. “Just imagine it,” Donna gushed, “a whole town filled with lost souls, guided by us towards the cellulite of heaven, and into the loving sweaty embrace of the goddess! We get to be that guiding hand! Does not that sound glorious?”
“It is glorious!” Lucy smiled, “Of course, Donna, you remember the lessons Mother Gloriana taught you about being an evangelist, correct?”
“Most certainly!” Donna nodded confidently, “First, we are to procure steady positions of employment and develop goodwill within the citizens of the community of this town. We must present our church in as positive a light as we possibly can. In this way, they will consider joining the congregation, eventually getting started on the road to becoming Sisters.”
“Evangelism is a bit more complicated than that,” Lucy explained, “but your enthusiasm is obvious. We will go over the plan again at a later date. For now, yes, we need jobs. I will peruse the local ‘help wanted’ advertisements in the paper. You search for job openings on the computer.”
